Flight: First things first! Fred I apoligze if the coment by larry offended you. Some of us were brought up to say colored and not the other. This was back in the 40,50 and early 60's. But, as the years years progressed the term has changed to Black Men and Women. But, to me we all are Americans Fred. We come from all walks of life. We have different skin colors, religons and our ancestors came from different countries. Fred please don't be offended, I know the comment wasn't made to offend anyone. We all are brothers and the good lord brought us home, not to fight or degrade ourselves. But, to remember the times we shared with each other in Viet Nam and to remember our fallen Brothers. Fred welcome home Brother and this is from the heart!!!! I have had the opportunity to me quite a few of these men whom visit this sight. They are the GREATEST. And I am proud to have you as a brother of the 129th. Mark always great talking to you. Your a stress reliever at times. Bernie glad to you back, Gently always my sister to have you here. I would like to thank everyone whom attended the reunions in the last few years. It's been a honor to meet all of you. And looking for to Phoenix in June. Update on Tommy Magumn of the VHCMA Liz and I are trying visit a few times a week. Tommy doesn't know yet that will never have use of his left side. The Phoenix reunion keeps him going. I will keep you posted on his condition. Well Brothers and Sisters I must head out. It's a honor to be associated with all of you of the 129th. Why the lord decided for us to come home. I don't know!! We went from boys to men over night. From strangers to brothers for ever. Theres nothing that seperates that bond, not color, race, religon. Lets enjoy each other while were here and remember our fallen brothers and the mia's. Thanks Alex 129th 65-68 and proud of it!!!

Fred, I, like Glen, don't think Larry meant any disrespect by his choice of adjectives in reference to "colored guy", though I was struck by it myself. It's always been "black " to me. Actually, it sounded like he would love to see this man again. Anyway, I'm sure Larry's verbal consciousness has been raised, so everyone, permit us to let it pass as pointed out and move on before we take a time consuming and uneccesarily hurtful tangent from our healing. We certainly don't want Larry, or any other friends(Black or otherwise) and brothers(Black or otherwise), to feel anything but welcome at this Web site. The "War" is over now and those who survived have a responsibility to be there for the others who also survived(Oliver Stone)....not against them(me). Walking gingerly, Gently

Welll my brothers, that`s what we call ourselfs. But since when does someone refer to someone as a " COLORED GUY", I want to know what what color!!!! I think the person that said that needs to think about what he just said. When I was in the Nam, Everyone was our brother, now all of a sudden , He`s a "COLORED GUY". Get a grip dude!!! That is wrong, this is a new world. We never served with "COLORED GUYS". We served with "Black Men", which if the truth is known, was not his war. We as white people brought them here as slaves. They,"Black People" have served this country long before Viet-Nam. And insults the hell out off me to hear someone call someone "COLORED GUY".That is Bullshit, and if you have some thing to say to me "Bring It On". A lot of people forget that Viet-Nam was fought primarly, by poor"Black Folks",and poor and middle class whites. Rich boys do not fight wars. I said what I have to say. .

And four grandsons to help tame those ponies-you go boy! Do contact Bruno, say hi, wish him well, and tell him to get in touch with us. I think of the two of you often, and pray that life is good. If you want to call my phone number is 414-607-0527.....call any time. Same info to Bruno please. And I encourage a trip to the reunion next summer for both of you. It's very healing, and some of the guys like to get naked. Mark-dance man, nice to hear all is well and busy. Busy can mean the bills are getting paid. Would be willing to send the picture on to you if you'd like. It's not a real good picture of him because I took the picture up through the bubble when we were waiting to go on a C.A. In yesterday's mail I received my copy of July/August edition of "The VHPA Newsletter." Today while reading through the articles and letters to the publication, I came across a letter from one of our own. Ron Paye, a former pilot for the 129th wrote a touching, compassionate letter regarding his experiences this past Memorial Day when he was a part of "The Run for the Wall/Rolling Thunder" ride and the ceremonies held in rememberance of the crew of "Freight Train 053." "Freight Train 053" was a CHINOOK that was apparently shot down or lost in Vietnam. This past Memorial Day there was a special ceremony held to honor and to place at rest the crew of "Freight Train 053." Kudos for you, Ron, for your thoughtful response to the loss of the crew of this bird. You did the 129th AHC proud through your comments and your willingness to share the powerful emotions you felt this past May. My only wish is that I could have been with you to share what was obviously a powerful ceremony and tribute to our fellow aviators. Not only did we fly -- "Above the Best" -- but without a doubt we flew -- "Among the Best" that the United States of America has ever had to offer. God Bless you, Ron! Thanks for representing all of the "Bulldogs and Cobras" at this important event. Lurch, out.

This is the second time that we have had a visit from a piolt of the 129th. The first Ron Paye, then Rick. Each time that Ron or Rick told a story of a mission. They both near had the piece of furanture of the floor as they told the story. Each have grabed between their lags as if to once agaon have the "sticks" in their hands. Ron damn near had the foot stool off the floor, and Rick had the kitchen chair "Skids Up" at our table. Thanks guys......as I have often said in here. Hello My Brothers, I`m Back!!!. Let me clear this up. I am living now in Raleigh,N.C. My wife and I were living in Rotterdam,Holland from June 1997 thru August 2001,so we are home. But we are going back in two years. We were on ex-pat status so it was really nice. She is the one with the brains. But after 5 years of ex-pat status, you must start paying the Dutch tax rate of 52%, and sociolize medical can be a real problem for Americans. So my wife quit her job with Valvoline, and took a job with SEMA. a France oil company. So here we are back home. Well I`m new to this Internet thing, so I promise I will answer all my e-mail but, I`m a one finger typist,(sometimes two) so bare me and my mistakes and misspelling!!! Because it takes me about two hours to type this stuff. After I got back from RVN that the guys you just served with are the best people you will ever know. And now I have been almost all over the world, and he was SO RIGHT!!! Just to share something with ya`all, when I received my 1st e-mail, I got a little choked up, and my wife had never seen me react like that. She said, I`ve never seen that side of you in 18 years being married. Enough of that!!! So Crazy Freddie is back and "STILL CRAZY AFTER ALL THESE YEARS". Well Brothers I`m outta here!!!
