patriot you suck, why don't you write "Cousin George" and ask him to let you keep and reeducate one of the Al Qaeda terrorist being held in Guantanamo, Cuba if you are so concern about their rights. You can get in touch with one of your Liberal congressmen and ask to join LARK { Liberals Accept Responsibility for Killers ). Your Personal killer or wantobe will be taken to your house under arm guard where it will be your duty to give him the care you would like for him to have. You may hugg him but remember that he really hates you. He does not get along with people who don't wear rags on their head so you can start saving some while your request is processed. He has an attitude problem just like you.He doesn't give a damm if the people of Florida who screw up can't read or Al Bore can't carry his own state. You want have to worrt about someone breaking into your home and hurting him because he has had hand to hand combat training and can kill them with a pencil or paper clip. Keep him away from household products for he may blow up your house. Never let him work in your garden, he may save some fertilizer and heating oil and you know what that will do. He thinks your wife and daughter are for one purpose only, they being subhumans. keep plenty of Korans around, he may want to teach you and yor son peace and brotherly love from it. I guest he reads every other line. I only went to 7th grade becase Pa was in 8th and I didn't want to show him up. if I had went to college like you maybe I would have not been edecated byond my intelligents or somthing like that your dumbacrats have. see you later al a gator.

Dave,I still check in, every now and then, just curious to see if any familiar names show up. I gave up on this brotherhood thing a while ago...Thing strikes me as more of the same anacronisms we were plagued with in Vietnam.
It's unfortunate that patriot and observer won't post their real names, but, in a way, they help remind me of the stupidity we dealt with ....walter crankcase singlehandedly winning the war for the NVA. yet, he's recognized as the most trusted person in america! A bunch of jingoistic clowns who never read American history beyond middle school, if they had, they'd know that we'd be a British commonwealth without the French, their military men, and their navy. A draft dodging rich kid who sends kids to fight for oil, and a public who's so gullible that they believe Iraq and Al Quida are the same. typical american's...if they wear rags on their heads,,,they're all the same nationality. We forget about our friends, and their excesses.... how many rapes in Los Angeles last year?
I just don't need to hear the bullshit. I'm not hardhat type..America, right or wrong, love it or leave it type. I was raised to think for myself, and if I saw something that wasn't right, to find someone who could fix it,or, fix it myself if no one else would.
You probably won't see me posting on this site again, for the reason's that I haven't been posting for quite some time now. I'll leave this one to the rednecks, the: if you say what I don't want to hear, I'll kick your ass, types.
brotherhood.....bullshit!

ROBERT STEINBACK......
It will be a question historians will debate perhaps for centuries to come.........
How did a president remain solidly popular with the American people,
even though::::::::::
? The economy stagnated during his watch;;;;;;;;;
? He turned a projected federal surplus of $5.7 trillion over the next
decade into a projected $2 trillion deficit, fueled by huge tax cuts
that enriched the wealthy and failed to stimulate the economy;;;;;;;;;
? He proposed and won more tax cuts, though most economists warned that
they wouldn't likely create many jobs;;;;;;;;;;
? His administration trimmed basic domestic civil rights, including the
right to privacy, counsel and habeas corpus;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
? He openly scorned relations with traditional allies and potential
friends worldwide;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
? He launched a war against a sovereign nation without establishing why
it was urgent and necessary, and without achieving any of his stated
goals for attacking, except regime change;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
? The company once headed by his vice president landed a no-bid contract
in Iraq far more lucrative than originally revealed??????????????????????
There has never been anything like this in American political history.
Despite a record of budget irresponsibility, international discord,
warmongering and even scandal, the Bush veneer is hardly scuffed..................
It isn't anything about Bush; it's about us. We've changed, and not for
the better...........................
It seems only yesterday that the typical American took a delicious pride
in holding the feet of political leaders -- even the ones we admired --
to the fire. Whether it was Nixon or Carter or Reagan or Clinton,
presidents have had to endure the relentless heat of popular scrutiny.
Until now...............................
Bush exists in a dimension far beyond having to fend off criticism. It's
as if critical evaluation itself has gone into hibernation. Virtually
nobody questions Bush -- not the opposition Democrats, not the bulk of
the media, and by all reckoning, not the public.......................
There can be only one explanation: Sept. 11. That terrible day in 2001
transformed us in many ways, but the most subtle and insidious change
was how it sapped our national confidence.............................
The terrorist attacks provoked in us not courage, but fear -- fear of
being victimized again, as we were that day. We've reacted like the rape
victim whose faith in human nature is crushed by anxiety and suspicion,
rather than the one who fights back spiritually, refusing to be degraded
by a degrading act.......................................
Bush told us that we needed to attack Iraq for our security, and we
accepted it. He told us that we needed to compromise certain civil
rights to help catch terrorists, and we accepted it. He told us that our
security required us to detain suspects without charges or access to
lawyers, and we accepted it...............................
It's as if the American people, shivering with fear, are huddling around
Bush as if he were a shepherd. Do whatever you must, dear shepherd; just
protect us. Consequently:::::::::::::::::::::::::::
? We won't even question economic policies that have created a weak
dollar, a soft stock market and creeping unemployment...............
? We won't explore the logic of disarming the newly freed Iraqi people,
while backing a resumption of sales of assault-style weapons at home...............
? We won't evaluate the ludicrous notion that Haitian asylum seekers
must be imprisoned as a matter of national security, even as migrants
from communist Cuba are allowed to swim ashore and go free...................
When I press Bush supporters on his record, they invariably respond with
general references to faith and trust: He has good reasons for what he
has done. Time will prove him right. He's a good man.........................
That's no America I recognize. Some amount of faith is fine and healthy.
But aren't we Americans supposed to be feisty, indomitable, demanding,
assertive, skeptical?????????????????????????????
Sept. 11 rightly made us more cautious and more vigilant. But it also
diminished us. We're less tolerant of dissent; less thoughtful about
world issues; less concerned with principles of justice, fairness and
equity; and -- to the apparent benefit of Bush's poll numbers -- less
demanding of our political leaders..................................
It made us intellectually passive -- which frightens me much more than a
hijacked airliner......................
The Patriot........ <weare@mess.com>

Alvis, sorry to hear about your wheels. I know about our friends to the south brother. I live in Laredo. That is right on the Texas-Mexico border. A lot of that occurs here. No drivers license, insurance etc,etc,etc. Our insurance rates in Laredo are the highest in the state because of that factor man. And the stealing of the vehicles,man o man. Ifin your car is stolen & go across the river you might see your car in a fresh new paint job. Try proving to them that's your car.Talk about a federal case. But if your across in your car & have an accident, lord have mercy on you. There jails are jails they aint no fun. Over there your are guilty until proven innocent. Fred A. I do still have the same bike I rode to Louisville. I'm thinking about riding it to Next years reunion. Maybe i can time it to stop by Mark and Dee's and ride the rest of the way with them. There's lots of time to figure that out. That's too bad that you don't have No fault out there. What year and make car did you have? I'm sure it will be quite an expense to replace whatever it was. Not sure if anyone heard, but Kodak is preparing to lay off 6000 people this year. We used to be a force of 80,000 in the 80's and now we are down to about 20,000. I have been here for 22 years, and have had to find other jobs in the company to remain, but my years of service will make no difference to them if i am one of the workers to go. Well, Hope the rest of the Hiss and Pissers are doing good. Have a nice weekend, Rob

Hey Fred Alvis. Sounds like if you didn't have all that bad luck you wouldn't have any luck at all. So will your insurance have to pay to have your car replaced, or are you SOL? I'm glad the VA was able to patch your hand up. As Rick England would say, "BE CAREFUL OUT THERE" I hope your hand heals up ok. Ray Gagner, how's it going Brother? My brother is doing rehab, and isn't getting better as fast as he would like. I try to give him words of encouragement, but he's a proud man and has a hard time watching his wife mow the lawn while he has to catch his breath after tying one shoe. The doctor says it will be 3 to 6 months of recovering before they can do the operation to remove his cancer tumor, and that's only if he is strong enough then. Thanks to all for the kind words. Rob.

Hello from Austin. I am sorry that I have not logged on in so long but we were on leave during June and we have been moving to a new (to us) house this month. I still have no DSL at home but had the chance to log on at an off site location. Bruno and Bernie- Hope you are both doing well. Jim- I did get the candle and I appreciate your sending it to me. It was in good shape and I really do thank you for your effort in getting it to me from the memorial service. Judith, I am so sorry for your loss. Our prayers are with you.
You all might be interested that I recently got to see Claud's only brother, Ray Strother. He lives in Montana but was in Austin for a booksigning. He just published a book, entitle"Falling Up." It is sort of an autobiography so naturally there is mention of Claud, VIetnam, and Claud's death in the book. It is an interesting book although Claud's story is by no means the primary focus of the book. If you see it on the shelve at the book store, you may want to look at it. More later when I get connectivity. Regards, Diane (Strother) Moy

My Friends-thank you for your thoughts and virtual hugs, but please do not consider sending flowers! You need to keep your money for the 2004 Re-union in Indianapolis (or/and Kokomo). Additionally, you know I will be requesting donations in the near future for a brother who needs to get to the re-union(our Christmas fund), and that to me is much more important than sending me flowers, so please save your money. Just say a prayer for my family that this sadness turns into happy memories soon. With love-Gently

I think some of you guys might enjoy this and forget about Roy,
Harley Davidson
Arthur Davidson, inventor of the Harley Davidson Motorcycle
Corporation, died and went to heaven. At the gates, St. Peter told Arthur,
"Since you've been such a good man and your motorcycles have changed
the world, your reward is that you can hang out with anyone you want
in Heaven."
Arthur thought about it for a minute and then said, "I want to hang
out with God." St. Peter took Arthur to the Throne Room, and
introduced him to God. Arthur then asked God, "Hey, aren't you
the inventor of women? "God said, "Ah, yes. " "Well," said Arthur,
"professional to professional, you have some major design flaws in
your invention.
Namely;
1. There's too much inconsistency in the front-end protrusion.
2. It chatters constantly at high speeds.
3. Most of the rear ends are too soft and wobble too much.
4. The intake is placed way to close to the exhaust and, finally,
5. The maintenance costs are outrageous."
Hmmm, you may have some good points there," replied God, "hold on."
God went to his Celestial super computer, typed in a few words and waited
for the results. The computer printed out a slip of paper, and God read it..
"Well, it may be true that my invention is flawed,"
God said to Arthur, "but according to these numbers,
more men are riding my invention than yours....."

I love this site! My brother was a member of the 129th. Freddy Darnell Pyle. I come here often to see what is new. He is unable to visit as he was falsely accusued and imprisioned for something he did not do. If any of you remember him please write to him at Freddy Darnell Pyle P.O. Box 220 Newport, NC 28579. God bless EACH and EVERY one that was there and also their families. Please remember that of those that did not make it home, they all have a home in our hearts.

Kokomo is always in sept. Its held in an old corn field. Its perhaps 1/4 mile long. There are 2 main roads traverseing it, with about 2 others flanking at the ends. A sound stage and vendors occupie the middle. Tents, camp fires,groups of men flank all roads. Almost every camp site has a U.S. flag waving with a unit flag.Its dirt,sometimes mud, grass, smoky and loud. Its also great. It sorts reminds me of a field camp years ago.People are serching, hugging, grinning,laughing and extremly friendly.Its very much like a gathering of " good ole boys" People share there beer, there food and their smiles.Many are in booney hats,field jackets or unit shirts.Its a relaxed, dress down affair. Bathrooms are "port a pottys". Last year, 13 thousand vets showed up.
The Indy reunion is what the atlanta reunion is. Its next year, in june.Its a bit more , shall we say, "up scale". Both are great.Kokomo is more like a concert with the music being laughter of old fellowships once more being renewed and happiness in ones eyes under the stars .The nights are cool, the fires and friendships are warm.The forum is plubic, the groups are somewhat public, the memories are private but somehow shared.The saddest thing is seeing different floks looking for folks in their units but they are the only ones there ,left looking for old memories and friends.
Jim Westwang, my friend,my to few times flying partner, hang in there buddy. If u have to choose one event to attend here in indiana, choose LZ indy. You might be able to catch someone praticeing at the 500 speedway or a big race at the drag strip here

Good Aftenoon Flight, Just home from work and a great vist with Barry Winkler at lunchtime. I have read todays recent posts and Bruno CONGRATULATIONS 27 days is a great start, I have been smoke free for 8 months now. The biggest thing I noticed since quitting is that I have Saved $1600.00 that's not spent on Smokes. My visit with Barry really made me mad that I had to bypass Atlanta. But there is to be no excuses next year.
A note to motorcycle fans my web site (web.tampabay.rr.com/fuerstenau) definitely shows how I spend my spare time here in Florida. As they say "Live 2 Ride, Ride 2 Live".

Good Afternon You all.Fred Alvis go get those pill poppers. We dont get our rocks on. We used to get our rocks off on the C A's. Hey Smitty glad to hear your Okay - you got a big smile otta me cause you visited Bernie. Flight I need help. does anyone out there recall SP/4 Yarabrough ?? I think he used to CE for 1st flt plt. He was W.I.A. right around the same time. I met him on the flight home when going back to the states. Also I understand that the next re-union is going to be in Indiana, but, is it going to be in Kokomo or Indianapolis - I'm otta trim . Help & make me fly right. Hello Diane , Log in once in a while . Hello Gently . Bill Shilleto Hello & where are you - check in once in a while man. Marky Mark glad to see you survived the flood bro. Keep going even ifin' you had a relapse @ the reunion. This is part of the road back. In some sense I can relate because after 40 yrs I've gone 27 days w/o smoking . Man this really is a test of will power. Bernie - hello hombre. Hope you & Smitty had a good bro. I also can't wait to see the pictures of the re-union & the pictures of Claude. Hello WO1 Faucher. I was going thru the Gallery or something & you stated that your Crew chief was Sp/4 Stamper & that Claude & you were roomates. I never knew that untill a couple of days ago. On April the 14th your CE is shot appx 14 days later you lose your roomy . I dont have words to guess what you felt. You need to check in. Hey Bernie, lets see ifin we can make Indiana. Hi folks; still on vacation, first i went to Lagoon (Large amusement park) in Utah & was able to go out for a wonderful visit with Bernie Hernandez & his lovely wife again. They are such nice people. I gave him a shirt & they gave me one of those Vietnam Throws that were talked about on the site but i have never been able to find. Was in Glacier Park Yesterday ( as some of you recall this is my chilhood-30 home) got some real nice close-up photos of large Ram Bighorn Sheep & Mountain Goats & am trying to take it easy & have a good time. After making the reunion in Atlanta, I am going to make another, either Kokomo or Indy but definitly need to see my old Pal Fred Alvis, as my health slips a little downhill, i never know how many more chances i will get. I cannot describe what the reunion has given me but i can only give a little advice to those of you who have not made it there yet ( if you can get to one by hook or by crook, please do it) I was kind of scared a little before but fears were set aside by great people & i was able to work on a few old feelings. It is a better feeling if you have someone who you just remember well to be at your side so my many thanks again to you (Shadow), for being there for me.
I too am tired of all the pill ads & moo-goo-guy-pan, but the genuine stuff makes it worth it. I am looking forward to seeing the pics from Atlanta.
Love & respects; Smitty

Flight: Great seeing our flight log getting back to what it was designed for. Communicating with each other. Won't be making the big K in sept.Charlie Rains and I have been invited to St. Louis to have a booth for the VHCMA during the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation's Labor Day weekend There. This will be an reenactment type of event with the opportunity for Huey rides. Everyone whom made the Atlanta Reunion know about the organization. Charlie thinks it will be a great way to find our Brothers out there. Which I agree 100%. They are predicting about 125,000 people. So there should be some our Brothers out there. Of course the Bite and Strike will be represented. Max glad your getting your va working for you. It just takes time. Remember the Army'S motto ( hurry and wait). Dennis and flight: I have cursed the VA for years, but early this year I *finally* got a primary care physician appointed, and things have been much, much better since. It really makes a world of difference to have a doc getting things arranged for you. Some things are still less acceptable than I'd like — the emergency doc totally misdiagnosed my fractured back two months ago, and the waiting list in my area for dental is two years! — but it's much better than HMOs and the like, from the stories about them that I've been hearing. Bite and Strike! Max

Hello Flight,now that one and all has reported in from Hotlanta (which I was forced to miss due to business concerns),it's time for a short Florida Update. To begin with Barry, I haven't seen you lately, whatsa matter car can't find it's way to Haines City?. Seriously, Glad everyone had a great time, was really envious of the Huey Rides. Let me spend a minute in regards to the VA. Last week, I finally had enuff with copays for my medications. I called the nearest VA OPC (Orlando for me), explained my situation, started to get the run around so I calmly requested to talk to the Clinic Administrator. I was quickly put right thru, I explained the situation and the reason why I felt I was having the hoops set out for me to jump thru, (ie: the bad experience 1998, had 830am appt at 5pm still had not been seen, so I left vowing never to return).I was promptly told that things had changed and to give the system a chance.Some basic information was exchanged and a promise of a phone call by end of day. I figured that would be the last I would hear from the VA. Barely the time it took to go to the break room for coffee and come back (5mins), had gone by when I was told I had a call waiting on line 2.The person on the line was the appointment supervisor,asking what dates and times were convenient for me to come to the clinic. A Date and time was set, and I was told of the new total array of medical services were available to me as a Priority 1, 100% vet. However, time will tell and I will update after the appt.I need to find a workable solution as I am not eligable for TriCare till 6/2006 cuz I was on SS disability for a while,then went back to work. NOW on a lighter note for those of You might be interested in what I do when I'm not workin or bitchin, check out my new web page I just finished. Web Addy is web.tampabay.rr.com/fuerstenau. Denial And Deception..................
Why are so many influential people are unwilling to admit that Bush administration officials deceived us into war in Iraq; holds Pres Bush and other top officials sought to convey impression about Iraqi threat not supported by actual intelligence reports; sees political and media establishment in denial, finding excuses of administration's efforts to mislead both Congress and public; cites importance of admitting that Bush 'bamboozled' nation (M) Politics is full of ironies. On the White House Web site, George W. Bush's speech from Oct. 7, 2002 -- in which he made the case for war with Iraq -- bears the headline ''Denial and Deception.'' Indeed.
There is no longer any serious doubt that Bush administration officials deceived us into war. The key question now is why so many influential people are in denial, unwilling to admit the obvious.

Has Hyway 127 closed. 118 is closed and all side roads inbetween are all closed due to high water. We had to go down 4 extra country mile squares to make it back to Coldwater. in town here lots of basements are flooded. Luckly ours is not.....YET!!!...we used to have a problem with that but last year got new spouting and just told them to make it so the runoff just goes out to the farmers field 2 ft. to the east of us. So far, so good. Knock on wood. I saw Mercer co. on the Weahther Cannel this morning. Gee, we finally hit the big time round here.
Sent some pix of Atlanta that some have sent me to the web master last night and hope that they will be up soon.

Gently thanks for the kind words. My Brother is home recuperating now. He has to go to rehabilitation for 8 weeks, and then if he's strong enough, they operate to take the tumor out. I just hope they can get all of it while they're in there. It's hot and sticky out our way, but we're not flooding. Rick England, how's it going? HEEEEEEEE. Rob

Hey, Flight... Over the 4th I attended the dedication of the Colorado Western Slope Vietnam Memorial in Fruita. Jim Doody, who lost a brother (helicopter pilot- 101st Airborne) in Nam organized the concept, design and construction of the memorial... it's truly breathtaking, and has an H-model Huey mounted on a pedestal above a structure with name panels all around it. Some of the highlights were a visit from one of Colorado Air National Guard's Huey H-models with the crew, and a flyover of 3 F-16's. Of course, I had to go over to the NG Huey for a look. While I was there I met a guy who was an RTO with the 7/17th over in Pleiku in '69-69. Hope you all had a great 4th!

Hello flight ! Sounds like Atlanta was fun. I'd love to take a ride on a Huey again. Did they let you shoot at any turkeys or anything? ha ha. Please don't think of this as spam, but I have to ask if you've heard about the new liquid viagra? It's called Mydixadrill, you can literally pour yourself a stiff one. later, Greg

Melody, we ARE getting tired of the pill pushers too, but we are NOT tired of you posting about your Uncle. THAT is what this site is for, some day someone will connect and you will get the information you require. I found people I have been looking for for about 33 years. and have met a bunch of new brothers and sisters that are just as great. every time I get an E-mail from a new or old brother I thank Mark and Dee for this site. you hang in there it WILL happen. Been a while since i've been here and i'm sad to see these people posting all the pill crap. Was just wondering how you all were doing, great I hope. Kind of getting tired of asking this but incase someone new has come on here. I'm looking for someone who knew my uncle, Olen W Garrett. I found his name on the 68 roster. Also on my link is a page with 4 pics of him, 2 young and 2 when he was older. Thanks.

Happy 4th of July gang.......Looks like the "drug spam" has taken over....one pill to "get up" and one pill to "get down". Who says we`re not a drug culture...."One pill makes you larger and one pill makes you small....and the one pill mother gives you don`t do anything at all....LOL.....

Flight, to those of you that weren't at Atlanta or didn't get an "embossed Huey" from me, I still have a couple Bulldogs and about 8 Cobras left. I can make more as needed and they are $10.00(ea.to cover my time & expense). Sorry,I am retired and on a fixed income, so,I need to recover some expense along the way. I think all that has them will agree they are pretty nice and reasonable. If any one is interested just e-mail me your address and I'll send them out to you. If you happen to be short on funds..let me know. If you want to see a picture first I'll send an attachment with your e-mail. Always a brother, Gale
