Fred Alvis, Hey Dude, This is Freddie Skaggs, not Fred Brown. But Fred Brown and I do think alot alike and have a lot in common, so I can see where you get confused. And three Fred`s on the web-site, that can confuse alot of people when they are just surfing. Good God, look at all that damn spam. We need a spam blocker on the web site.

Well!! What`s Up !!!! Ladies and Gentleman!!!! Gently sorry to hear about your father and everybody else that`s dealing with illness or deaths in your families. It`s been so long since I`ve been online here at the web-site. I`m just trying to cover all the bases, but you all know where I`m coming from. Well we`ve got settled in our new condo, and trying to keep the sod alive in this Carolina heat!!!! Gonna have a hell of a water bill!! Also I`ve went back to work!!!! Yes, that dirty "four letter word". But I love my new job!!! I`m training to be a Horticulture Tech, I take care of tropical plants in big office building`s and bussiness`s. I`m a "plant freak" anyway, so I`m getting to know all the species of plants and small tree`s. I`ve always had a "green thumb" and figured if I was going back to work, I would do something I love. I`m a "old flower child" anyway. But my job description is, Professional Interior Landscaping and Plant Design and Maintenance. My boss, Joey, is a great guy, he`s a real mature 28 year old young man. Alot of fun to work with and a great teacher. He`s a professional surfer, so working with him is keeping me kinda young feeling. Joey has his degree in Landscape Architecture from N.C.State University, so he knows his stuff. So I`m meeting lots of new people and learning alot. Honestly it is nice to have a "growing process" this late in life, sort of a metamorphois, for lack of a better word. Marky Mark, are you still hanging in there with the program? How is your father doing? Did you have any of those tornadoes in Mercer County? Ray, hope everything is working out for you. Fred Brown and Kim LaVoie and Animal(Greg) you guys need to check in, things are getting interesting on the "eastern front". Dave Powers, I guess you`re probably "broke" with your girls getting married, like the song said,"I just write them a check, and rub my neck" LOL!!!!!! Looks like the "pill pushers" and "sex freaky deakies" are taking over the web-site. And Mr. X, I feel ya brother, but no one is listening!!!!!! All you guys having car troubles, they don`t build them for us to be "shade tree" guys no more. And Gale, don`t buy them Rayloc altenators from NAPA, they just keep "going bad" until you find one that is good. I took a Rayloc Alt. back 4 times before I got one that worked. Seems the "big 3" auto manufacture`s, once they figured out everyone`s doing their own repairs.....can`t have that shit!!! Let`s redesign these cars and trucks, so they got to come into the dealership or repair shop to fix it. Well have a wonderful and safe Labor Day Weekend everybody!!!! Gale Beard, so you don`t like Bud beer, somebody needs to bring you a "Fotie Ounce" of Colt .45 or Old English 800 malt to Kokomo. Talk about giving you something to chew on!!!!! JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!

Hi Hiss and Pisser’s, Have great thing to say about the Charleston VA. The people were honestly concerned about your welfare. This was so refreshing , having been to the one on Atlanta witch was just a zoo. Mark get all the quality time you can with your father. It’s a special bond that will shape the rest of your life. My Father died when I was in Viet Nam. Having to make all the arraignments at the VA in San Francisco to have him transported and buried in Tacoma Wa, was a great shock. He was a Man’s Man but not a very good father. I was very mad with him and took it out on him with a letter I wrote a month before he passed. I wrote some things that a 18 year old in Nam should not have put to paper. I’ll never even know how much that could have hurt him. The guilt I have carried for all these years has made me a different person. Honor thy Mother and Father.... Frenchie 68-69

May he rest in peace and may God bless him and his family. I truely know the pain his family went through. My 25-year-old son Michael Kiefer is one of the FDNY Firefighters that are still missing in the World Trade Center. I guess Keylogger didn't have much to say this morning. Ray, how you doing Brother? Get on here and do some spell checking for me... Did you get rid of that black mold yet? I was cleaning up more of the handles to my nut and bolt cabinet last night with Brasso. I forgot just how green that will get your fingers and nails. Seeing as how kids are ready to go back to school, I have a joke that my Cousin told me. A third grade teacher asked her students to tell her one thing that they did over summer, but she said you’re in the third grade now so I don’t want you to use any baby talk to tell me. I want you to use grown up talk. So she asked Mary what she did and Mary said I went to Florida and visited my Nanny. The teacher said now Mary we’re using grown up talk. You went to visit your Grandmother. Oh yes she said my Grandmother. The teacher asked Tommy what he did and he said I went to an amusement park and rode on a Choo Choo Train. The teacher said Tommy use grown up talk. You rode on a Train. Oh yes he said I rode on a Train. The teacher asked Johnny what he did, and he said I read a book……… The teacher asked what book did you read? Johnny thought a minute and said Winnie the SHIT.

Gale-real funny!!! 'Babysitting Gently!" Geez! You best not fall assleep at Kokomo! Kal, Ted and Rick won't be joining us, and that is really disappointing. But there are going to be new faces this year, including the Marine friend of mine who was incarcerated(Tom) and to whom some of you wrote...remember? Also, my younger sister has gotten herself velcro'd to a Vietnam Veteran(Army) and they will be joining us. We'll have to rate them! The Donut Dollie from the Mekong will be there again, but she knows so many people(probably all 35,000!) that quick hugs is about all anyone will get. The camp site will be larger because our "turkey" man friend is not allowing vehicles to park at it. Therefore, there will be more room for tents, and it sounds like more people will be camping at the site this year. Gale, you will not have to sleep in your truck-but you will have to bring beer. Robbie, best to your brother, Mark, best to your dad. I'm in touch with Ray on a daily basis and the Vet Center is helping him. He had a "test" for PTSD which was to last one hour-it took him 3 1/2---- but they may want to give it to him again because it took him so long. What?! Go figure! Fred get that vehicle working....or we'll move the 35, 000 at the re-union to your place. And Gale, stop trying to be just like Fred: he gets married, now you are..his car gives him trouble now yours gives you trouble...are you going to grow a long white ZZ Top beard also? Be safe everyone---we had several motorcycle accidents yesterday...and I'm sure there will be more. Just so that Ron Paye is careful when when we both dress really "hot" and head out on the highway:>))))))))Peace-Gently

Plus, not enough knowledge in the parts stores. Always have the old parts checked. Alot of wiring problems or connection problems. Free from MR. Autozone. Will be in the St. Louis Area over Labor Day. The Organization that gave the Huey rides, invited Charlie and I to work with them. To help find our Vietnam Brothers and also to advertise the VHCMA Organization. Were getting to be a dying breed. But, the help of the Vhcma and Mark I have found all of you. Rick, Gently, and Gale, nice to hear from you guys (and gal). Rick, what's the price of a gallon of gas going for in your neighborhood? It's around $1.80 here, and might be higher by this weekend. Gale, i'm sorry that Fred's cloud extended over to your house. Damn that Mikey Waltrip and his Napa parts. Maybe you should have gone to Alex Fernwalt recommended Auto Zone. eh Alex? Gently it sounds like you have started up a motel business at your place. You're a wonderful person to do all of that. Mark Jackson, i agree with Gale, give us an update on your Dad. I hope he's doing ok now. Well, i hope everyone has a nice Labor Day weekend. Any of you guys that were in the Gun platoon, Gale says he has a few embossed huey's left. Hi Rob, hope your brother is on his road to recovery! I check in every day, but, too much to do during these summer months. I live about 1 hour west of Alvis and I think he has shoved that "black cloud" over my way. I put a rebuilt alternator on my pick up last Dec ($183 from NAPA) and it looks like it's went out already. That's just what I wanted to mess with today besides getting into my Kokomo funds. Thanks Alvis! ;o[ Flight, I still have a few "embossed Hueys" (Cobras), but, can make more if anyone's interested. I about break even at $10, so, a couple bucks for postage helps a lot. I'll e-mail a photo to anyone that wants to see them. If you want one, but, can't afford it...let me know. Mark, I hope that your Dad is doing better. He seemed like a fine & proud man when I met him. Well, I better get busy on my truck. Robbie-we're here! Things are really heating up here in Milwaukee due to Harley's 100th brthday party happening this week. The city is expecting 350,00 bikers, but I bet we easily double that amount. Some of these participants(bikers) had to get hotel rooms over a hundred miles away because last summer, when local hotels opened their rooms for reservations, they went literally, overnight. So, I hope that with all of the drinking and late hours, everyone gets to their rooms or camp sites safely. And Ron Paye, Sir....which night are you staying with us, and how many friends are you bringing? I know you said something about 30 people coming with you, so we cleaned out the attic, basement, and garage. Then we mowed the lawn for tents, and got rental spaces elsewhere in the neighborhood for our cars. As an after thought, we rented 5 port-o-pots, hired a caterer, mechanic, and a doctor. I figure we'll call the place "Payeville." Put a smile on your face everyone-Gently

Fred A, Thanks for asking, my Brother is doing a bit better but has trouble breathing. The doctor told him to exercise by walking. He said he gets out of breath just walking in from the driveway to the kitchen. I think he has a better attitude about his situation now though. I believe he relalizes he's not going to get better right away that it will take some time and effort on his part. Whatsamatter your car? I hope you get it running ok. I had a problem with my bike that i thought was something drastic by the way it was acting, and it turned out to be a loose battery cable. Mark, I also hope your Father is doing better. Nothing like having your Dad around to talk to. Gently, i sent a msg off to Bud Rainey asking him to get on the flight log and tell us how he's doing, but if he doesn't turn his computer on he'll never see it. Mark and Dee...take care of of your dad. Do everything you can for him, so that if something does happen, you will not have any regrets, or feelings of guilt for not having been there for him. That goes for all of you, and for both parents. You need to be at peace when they're finally at peace. Rick E. sounds like you might be joining us in Kokomo! Fred, make sure you go back to the memorials to check on other people having posted. Robbie..how's your brother coming along? J.W., was it you I promised the "We were Soldiers" poster to? Both my room mates where kia...(60th ahc) and i have been looking for their familys for 30 years. have posted on the wall for them. well folks, talk at u later... arghhhhh... gotta go to jury duty today. best of luck to all, Mark, god bless.

Hey Family.............hope all is well out there for all.......sure wish the puter docs would stay out of here.......thats disgusting........put my father in the hospital yesterday. Complete kidney failure, high heart rate, heart failure, high blood pressure, and then some. This all started Saterday night when he was in another hospital and the Doc called me and said that if we dont do something for pops that night that he would not be around in a couple of days. He just wanted to go back to the garage and die with his boots on in his office in his chair. He was trying to yank the tubes out of himself. I tried to talk him tinto going to the hospital in lima to start some treatment there. He refused. They said at that hospital saterday night that he needed to start dialysis imediatly. Pops said he just wanted to go. He sdaid the dame fools told him the same stuff 5 years ago. He said all he need was a quart of water and some crackers as if he just needed his oil and filter changed and he would do it himself. After argueing with him for an half hour and seeing him get madder and madder, I just said, OK Dad, I will respect your wishes. Ya see, my relationship with my pop is the best it has been in forty years since I dont work for him anymore and I am not going to spend the rest of our days together at each others throats like we used to........We took him back to the garage and got him settled in his cahir and made sure that he was comfortable. He just wanted to sleep there that night. He is the stuburnist, hard headed man I have ever known, but also the tuffest and smartest man I have ever known, and I love him.......Dee and I and the son-in-law, and daughter went over there Sunday to help him go to the bathroom. He had soiled himself already so we gave him a sponbge bath and changed his clothes. He felt better after that. We never said anything to him at that time about going in to start treatment............Monday my son-in-law, Bill, Thats works for dad. called me to see if I would come over and help dad go to the bathroom because he knew that pops had not been to the shit yet that day. Ya see, the man cant even get around by himself anymore....so I get there, and with all that is wrong with pops , he is somethimes way out in left field with his thinker. It took me awhile to get through to him that I was there to take him to the bathroom. After I got him there, and I noticed that he had soiled himserlf again, I started to clean him up and cahnged his clothes again. Not even thinking about even trying to get him to go to the hospital, the words " Pops, are you ready to go to the hospital now?" came out of my mouth. He looked at me and said. I guess so. I said are you sure?. You will have to be there for a while and take lots of tests and ride in an ambulance. He said I dont want no dame ambulance. I saus dad, you have to go that way and I will ride with you. he ok, but tell them not to ring the bells or blow the whisles. I said OK Pops. he us a very proud man...........anyways....we get to the hospital and the doc there tells us that he things through a change of events of many th9ings that pops just might be dehydreated andf my just need to have fluids to get his kidneys working again. was up there today and his kidneys are started to work a little bit but not up to par yet. Is going slow, but improving lil' by lil'. Pops looks a lil' better but, says he still doesnt feel good........I told him to not worry about the shop that Bill and I would keep it going. I felt his hand moving around on the bed and looked down and he was moving it until he found me hand and held it tight. That is the first time my dad has held my hand in 40 years. He also has told me that he loves me at least 5 or 6 times in the lasy 3 days. Another first in 40 years. pops always loved me, just did not know how to show it. Course my brother and sister, who have been no where to be found for a while have come swooping in like buzards. Probably to get their piece of the pie. I dont know................all I know is in the last 3 days I have cleaned my ole mans rearend 3 times and damb proud that I have. Not patting myself on the back here, just know and have felt and heard things from my father that the others will never know........the tuff WWII combat Marine of the Okinawa invasion of April 1st, 1945, is a softy. Just like me!!!!!!!....sure do love him....and pray that he gets better......just to get him in a hospital is a mirical. He has already been trown out of just about every Doc's office in the county because he tells them that they are all full of shit;-))))).....but as it turns out, he possibly my be right and just needs his oil and filters changed........Silly ole' Divil Daug!!!!!!!!!!!........well..you all take care......will not be able to make the Kokomo gig. The bay of the family gets married that weekend, As I stated in here before, if ya get a chance come over and help us celebrate. I will try and get the 129th flag to Ron Paye to bring to Kokomo...........I see our 173rd buddie "Spence" posted about their Christmas party at the Pop-A-Top Dec. 6th. if ya get a chance then, try and mnake it. Ron P and Fred A. were there last year. Looking forward to INDY next year./........Does anyboby have a land line on Tom Shanahan, or Randy Stark, ( Soothsayer and the Inn Keeper) of the 129th. Ed Thern of the 129th will be doing some traveling later and would like to visit them. They used to stop in here once in awhile...........I still have new names to add to the Roster and I am sorry to you guyts for not getting to that yet. I will, I promise............hang tight gang, day by day...........thanks for all that you do for Dee and I, and just plain thanks for being out there......I share the 129th and all of you with lots of vets and just plain folk that stop in the Pop-A-Top all the time........always a brother and sister.................Mark and Dee

GENTLY (and flight): It's weird that you just posted that about the Memorial Wall. I had put up a picture and short message about my friend Mike Walker, and this morning received an email from his sister-in-law, who saw them there. She's the first contact I've had about Mike, and I should be able to fill in some of the blanks about his death, and perhaps be put in contact with his family. Later, Max

Well Flight, I have just finished writing memorials for all of our POW-MIA' and KIA's on the "VirtualWall." Please visit the www.virtualwall.org and add to them in the near future. I added the last ten or so, so it will take awhile for our friends Ken and Jim, who do this for us, to get them all on. And Don... I can't thank you enough for allowing them to use the photos off from you site. It' was such a generous thing to do. Don't be strangers to this memorial site, it's beautiful and very respectful. On some air bases the Air Force is on one side of the field and civilian Aircraft use the other side of the field, with the control tower in the middle. One day the tower received a call from an aircraft asking, "What time is it?" The tower responded, "who is calling?" The aircraft replied, "What difference does it make?" The tower replied, "It makes a lot of difference. If you're an American Airlines flight, it is 3 o'clock. If you're an Air Force plane, it is 1500 hours. If you're a Navy aircraft, it is 6 bells. If you're a Marine Corps aircraft, the big hand is on the 12 and the little hand is on the 3. But if you're an Army aircraft, it's Thursday afternoon and 120 minutes to "Happy Hour!!!". I just got back from vacation. Took a road trip. I managed to find Joe DePuglia "Sir Francis" up in Milpitas, Ca. Had a great time getting back together with him. Only took 30 years to find him again. Got lost after I left his place and drove all over the Bay area before I figgered out how lost I had gotten. Took 3 hours to make a 45 min drive. Damn, that's what happens when you don't have a VOR or ADF, huh? KEEP ON GRINNIN'! "Scooter"

They can scan from an email or scan from a photo. Ken Davis, co-cordinator of the site, is the gentleman asking for such. He's a wondeful man who volunteers all of his time to the virtualwall. Do not mix this site up with "thevirtualwall," though a photo could be scanned for that site also. If any others have a photo of our William Dunlap, please let me know. Back on line again and just checking in. Gently, I am sorry to hear about your Dad! My prayers are with you. Recently got rid of AOL and the computer crashed. That was just the beginning of the "not-so-good-luck" I have been having lately. Totaled my car first day of vacation and injured my back. Been off work and on pain meds and muscle relaxers. Can't sit, stand or lay down for very long. Sleep only an hour at a time, three to four hours a day. Wonderful HMO. They won't even take a back x-ray.. just wait it out and the pain will go away soon.. in a week or two. The next day the motor went out on the dryer, two days later the microwave oven turned into an arc-welder. But then, things could be worse. If my savings account recovers, I am looking forward to being at the next reunion!

COFFEE: Worst I ever had was one night when I was NCOIC in the field company headquarters tent in Kontum (?). Cook had sent over a big pot, but it kept getting worse and worse, all night long. It wasn't until my stomach was all cramped up that I realized that the horrible taste wasn't the coffee, itself, but the taste from the eraser on the end of the pencil I had been stirring my sugar in with. DON'T EVER DO THAT! Kinda funny story from the night I was NCOIC: I was monitoring the radio calls from the troops we were supporting (I think the 101st), and one company got hit about midnight. They were calling to their headquarters, asking for ammo and medivacs. I kept trying to contact battalion (?) on one of those screwy crank radios, but couldn't get a response. I finally couldn't stand it any longer, so sent my runner to wake up the flight for an ASAP mission. Shortly afterwards, a jeep came screeching up, and the CO came rushing into the tent, screaming his head off and threatening to courts martial me for sleeping on duty and not answering the phone. I told him the problem, and said the sound he heard in the background was our choppers running up, and that a couple were already over at the ammo dump. After checking the phone, he apologized profusely, and said he'd have a letter of commendation put in my file. (Don't know if he ever did.) Later, Max

Dennis: I can certainly relate to your experience. I bitched about the the health care at the VA for two years, then I finally got a primary care doc, and things have run smoothly ever since. All I have to do is leave a message for her, and things start happening. She even schedules me for things I didn't think of, such as a dietician consult, and a physical therapist when I injured my back. Xrays and MRIs are done almost immediately, when called for. Sometimes the intern or student doctors (Portland is a 'teaching' hospital, attached to the med school) get a bit flustered, but the nurses usually keep them straight. A couple of years ago, I had a very painful systoscope exam of my bladder; afterwards, the nurse said to the doc, "You might try using the lubricant, next time." My sister and BIL have been paying big bucks to their HMO for years. Two weeks ago my sister was diagnosed by her doc and a radiologist with lung cancer, and, even though it was declared an *emergency*, she can't get in for a biopsy to find out which type it is until the 22nd of this month, and the bastiges originally tried to schedule it for mid-September. Later, Max.

Fred. I'm going out on a limb here, but have you tried the coil? Next time it quits place a wet cloth on the coil and let it cool for a while then try to start it.

Gale I always pulled guard duty at the bunkers either side of the main gate. thats before they built us the towers. The OD and Sgt. of the guard worried more about the coffee mugs from the mess hall then what the coffee would taste like. The coffee would open anyone's eyes right fast. But, you can tell the coffee drinkers now. We down have much hair left!! HA! HA! killed roots.but, cames in handy on the cool nights around Dec. 67. You all take care. Alex

Fred: Been with the zone 22 years. Very seldom have a bad fuel pump. that why I have customer bring in thier old parts to check. Most of the time it's something different. The Zone can check the control module and the coil. If they have somebody in the store that knows what their doing. Unless you have a distributorless ignition. Then you get to crankshaft sensor. Don't know about the Zone up there but, here I am the most mechanical and if I am not there your shit out of luck. lord knows what you might end with. But, hopefully you'll get the car running. Judith Liz and have both been busy with work. But, You and your family are still in our thoughts and prayers, and glad to see you back on line. Mark and Dee good hearing from you all also, give the bride to be a hug from us and our best wishes for the future. Well flight take care. Alex

My flight friends...thank you for being there for me in my time of sadness. Every day gets better and better. Dan, the flowers are still alive and kicking, Ray the plant flourishes with every sun rise, and C.P, thanks for starting the Christmas fund. All the emails gave me strength, and the cards will be kept in a special place. I cherish each and every one of you. Now, I do need a favor: Our VVA Chapter is going to sell coffee as our fund raiser this year, and I need help coming up with names to call it. I need fun names like Mekong Mud, Huey High, Jungle Green, get the idea. So play around with the ideas that come into your head and help me out. Speaking of improvements at the VA's: one of my friends went in yesterday and was seen and had blood work done immediately! So, yes, things might be looking up. My friends, Gently

Evening Flight!! As I have just returned from my reintroduction to the V.A.Medical System, I believe some postive thoughts are needed. First, one must remember that I have been rated 100% P&T since 1979, so that makes me some what of a lifer in thier system. However, today was a total reversal from the last time I turned to the medical system for help. The Primary Care Dr.(also a Cardiologist)started right in with his assesment of what my health care needs are and should be. By the time he was done, I was convinced that my previous Dr's for which my wife paid unspeakable amount of insurance premiums for, were just definitly doing only the HMO game. When I left the VA Healthcare Ctr in Orlando, I had all of my shots brought up to date, bloodwork done, medications ordered, and further Cardiac Testing arranged for. So, as others have said, the System is a tuff nut to crack, but once done, they will take care of you. So once again my faith in the VA has been Restored. IN CLOSING I WIIL URGE EVERY MEMBER OF THIS AVIATION COMPANY TO CONTACT YOUR ELECTED MEMBERS OF CONGRESS HAVE MAKE THEM SUPPORT FULL FUNDING FOR THE VA MEDICAL SYSTEM. IF YOU NEED HELP CONTACT ANY SERVICE ORGANIZATION "NUFF SAID" Dennis

Hi flight, Fred I talked to a friend who retired from a G.M. dearship and he said sometimes he has seen that problem . He said you mighy have to change the coil and module. He said to take it to a place where they have a machine to check distributor and leave it on so it will be as hot as if you had been driving it. He had seen cars that ran for awhile and quit , would not crank unyill they cooled off. J.W. Wilson

yep, it is a facet pump. Now that I have shot my big mouth off, it seems the pump isnt the problem. I went to tow the car home and it started. Seems it starts when its at " cold start conditions". I now can drive anywhere, but must wait for car to completely cool off. it just wont start warm... starting to pull what little hair i have left, out. Not even sure where tostart looking to solve this problem.

If the pumps are made by Facet, I can understand the problem. I use 12V pumps on octane knock engines for fuel supply and had nothing but trouble with Facet brand. Finally switched to Walbro and problems stopped. Other pumps were shorting out. Changed 2 in a day at times.

yep, engine check light came on some time after new pump was installed.... remember, i put only about 5 miles on it b4 it quit. I had zone check out light, said it was netural safty switch, nothing big. thats when my car wouldnt start again. I have been told by several people that the zone has ben having some real problems with the quality of the pumps. One fellow says 1 in five went bad on him.when zone stoped paying labor charges, he switched to another brand (for pumps only)I truely believe its a bad pump. when i get the car home again , we will see. take care all , fred.

Fred: Is your Check engine light on? if so then the throttle position sensor or map sensor(mass air flow sensor) is bad. Thats if it runs in park or neutral but, wants to shut down in drive. Or even a vaccum leak in a hose or gasket. You should have a purge value on the fuel rail to let the air out of the fuel system. Open a book at the Zone and has trouble shooting in the 1st section. Bruno you are thinking of the Ford which has the shut off switch in the trunk for the cars and passenger side under the dash for the trucks. Take care all.Alex

Fred, There is also a "circuit Breaker" Thingamagig for safety purpose . Mostly somewhere back in the trunk. Check it out it might be that the breaker keeps getting thrown. You should be able to hear the pump kick in to pressurized the system. 426 otta here.

Flight: Off work today. But had to get an ingrown toe nail removed. Lot of fun. Fred can you hear the fuel pump kick in when you first turn the key? There is a fuel pump RELAY under the hood and some model gm's also have a FUSE for the fuel pump. Have you changed the fuel filter? Are you getting a good blue spark to your plugs? If getting good spark to the plugs then we can rule out the bad control module or pick-up coil. You can hook to jumper wires from a 12 volt battery to the fuel pump wireing to see if the fuel pump kicks in. Oh! did you get a new pump strainer when you got your pump! Hope this will help you. Well hope the rest of you are doing ok!! Got to prop this foot up. Alex

Hello flight. Like Alvis, the trolls who post here don't bother me all that much, though I log on each day to check out what's happening. They're kind of like gnats to me: annoyances that can be fairly easily ignored. After all, they're just bits and bytes and photons on my monitor, not something I really have to deal with. The weather here in Portland, Oregon has been fantastic: hot and dry. My back has finally healed enough that I can now get back to setting fence posts on my new place; once the fence is up, there's a larger workshop/shed to build, a porch to replace, sprinklers to install, (mobile) home to paint — I'm tired already, just writing about it! I finally got my boat moved over here, and hope to get out soon for a few days and terrorize some trout and kokanee. All this talk about bikes had me drooling, and pulling out my old pics of me and my Ducati; but three accidents within one year probably means I shouldn't get another one — besides, I hate helmets, and Oregon requires them (and the weather here sucks for riding for at least half of the year). I just got an email from Jim Michener this morning; he's still living in Laos, and recently made contact with Ed Well's sister — he was able to provide her with a bit of info about Ed's death (KIA 4/23/67 in chopper crash — same one that killed Mike Walker). Well, the sun's up now, so I better go tote a few bags of cement. Bite and Strike!

hi Ray and all. Sorry Ray, you were misinformed,I havevnt a bike. Sold mine in the mid 80's. Those two fellas that write in here dont make me mad. Its moer of an intresuion into my place of tranquilty. Kinda like a car passing by with a loud base, the noise soon goes away. yes, I enjoy this place, listening to what others say, reading some very informed and well written responses. ( wish i could write as well as some) Dont know why anyone would threaten Mark, hes a heck of a nice guy without a mean bone in his body. Perhaps it is just to get a response in here, who knows. looking forward to Kokomo.the camp fires , the friend ships, the atmosphere , the brotherhood. Look into the night,up thru the smoke, vast darkness with stars so clear. One can almost see our fallen brothers smiling down.Quiet moments , thoughts turned inward, hearing the brotherhood and laughter from far off camps. dang, time to go to work..all have a great weekend.
