Well Flight, today is my anniversary. 40 years ago today I had to report to downtown Chicago for my first day in the army. We took a train and finally got to Fort Lenerdwood MO. Two months of fun there and I went to Alabama, lovely Fort Rucker. Two and a half months there and it was on to the 129th. I guess I got there at a good time. They were settled in at Lane for a while. Met a great bunch of guys there (England-Frenchie)many more. Some are with us some are not. Was an only child all my life. So having such a relationship with the guys I was with is like a second family.Finding so many guys before me and after me in the 129th. And having such a tite relationship forty years later is special. In that repect things are getting better. It was a strange ride over there. It's still a strange ride. Funny how fast the time went.

Well, recieved a BC from Woodward. Seems to be the guy I knew from high school and the 129th. I was friends with his brother, knew his sister as well and knew him some. At the messhall at Lane, I saw this guy that looked familar.Passing close by,I checked out his nametag. Then spoke to him. One can certianly tell that they are brothers.Last time I saw him was a day or two before being transfered to the ghostriders.Small world.

Mark, first off are you using a modem? If so maybe the file is too big, so let me know and I will add it to the pictures and mail it to you on a CD. I don't know so much about nose art before I got there, but I think those doors survived a lot as I know they shifted from bird to bird. I only remember like one Bulldog, than Granny plus maybe some Playboy ones. Like talking to Larry on Sunday, we seem to have figured out the 50 Cal on Ruthless 6 went to Chicken Wagon after I got that bird. Only fired a hundred rounds before saying it was junk.

Arthur,...If I may and in all due respect for you and your feelings, I would like to comment on your post of "Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 21:35:54 (MDT)" First of all, I am not singling you out, or your feelings about the matter you posted about. I have hesitated to make a comment and prayed what to say and if I should say anything at all. While walking in the woods this morning the Spirit guided me to say this;.... In the past I have ask that there would be no post that may invite a political discussion of some kind in here. Not to say that your post would of, but it could of. All though some of your feelings may very well be true and some of us may agree with them. We have found that such discussion has led to somewhat sorta kinda like hostile communications between some. Again I say, this not about your feelings or your political views. It is about keeping your blessed and honorable site of the 129th as it is stated as to what it stands for in the "PURPOSE" section on the front page of the site......It is my desire that none of these words I have spoken has upset you, or has made you harbor any ill feelings towards me or the site That surly is not my intentions. If I have offended you or anybody else with these words, I ask for your forgiveness and ask that you still love me as you did before.I am not trying to make you change any views you may have on any subject, I just want this site to remain a place for healing and rekindling old, and starting new ones. Does that make any sense to all of you? I am not that fluent with words but hope that this is acceptable......with Love and Praise and Blessings from my King, Arthur and All..........I love you man.....please Arthur, take this with the love that it is written in......always a brother....................

Good evening from the UK. ROK patches sound good Fred. We can certainly get some pictures of it and 509, it would be the least we could do and a pleasure. Been quite busy recently and a busy week coming up. Quite a few shows over the last few weeks with one or two spectators wanting to give 509 kiss!! Interesting flight down to Cosford with the doors open. A little damp and chilly to say the least not to mention a low level flight for part of it due to the cloud base. Coming north in the sunshine later in the day with the doors open was much more pleasant. I've posted a few photos on to the Yahoo site of the re-union and some taken at the shows. Plenty of rain over here but fortunately no flooding in Lancashire, though further south they have taken a beating. Take care, Simon, Nina and Bradley

Alvis, Sugestion for you: go to your employment office & ask to speak with the "LVER/Local Veterans Employment Rep. Inquire if Lowes is a MLE/Mandatory Listing Employer/Federal Contractor These are Employer that recieve federal monies (not ncessarily the one you were employed at). If it is that Lowes "is" you can file a grievance/complaint against them. The "LVER" should be able to "guide" you thru some of the process. Of course It is a slow process. Be patient & try not to blow your top. Sometimes this is easier said than done.

ahh, but the little red hen was wise to the economics. After her wheat fields and one bakery were established, she started selling to all the farms and even the city folks. She charged the highest cost of all the breads, all the while polluting the farm where it all first started. Her bread was so in demand she couldnt make it fast enough,so she again raised prices. The pig, goose and duck, cried out, build another stove Hen,then you can make twice as much bread.Walking into the bank, the little red hen simply smiled, and ask why?

USA - Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at 04:44:23 (MDT)
I got this in the mail today ... thought it was pretty "funny" thought you might like it too /// Once upon a time, on a farm in Texas, there was a little red hen who scratched about the barnyard until she uncovered quite a few grains of wheat. She called all of her neighbors together and said, "If we plant this wheat, we shall have bread to eat. Who will help me plant it?" "Not I," said the cow. "Not I," said the duck. "Not I," said the pig. "Not I," said the goose. "Then I will do it by myself," said the little red hen. And so she did. The wheat grew very tall and ripened into golden grain. "Who will help me reap my wheat?" asked the little red hen. "Not I," said the duck. "Out of my classification," said the pig. "I'd lose my seniority," said the cow. "I'd lose my unemployment compensation," said the goose. "Then I will do it by myself," said the little red hen, and so she did. At last it came time to bake the bread. "Who will help me bake the bread! ?" asked the little red hen. "That would be overtime for me," said the cow. "I'd lose my welfare benefits," said the duck. "I'm a dropout and never learned how," said the pig. "If I'm to be the only helper, that's discrimination," said the goose. "Then I will do it by myself," said the little red hen. She baked five loaves and held them up for all of her neighbors to see. They wanted some and, in fact, demanded a share. But the little red hen said, "No, I shall eat all five loaves." "Excess profits!" cried the cow. (N. Pelosi) "Capitalist leech!" screamed the duck. (H. Reid) "I demand equal rights!" yelled the goose. (J. Jackson) The pig just grunted in disdain. (A. Sharpton) And they all painted "Unfair!" picket signs and marched around and around the little red hen, shouting obscenities. Then a government agent came, he said to the little red hen, "You must not be so greedy." "But I earned the bread," said the little red hen. "Exactly," said the agent. "That is what makes our free enterprise system so wonderful. Anyone in the barnyard can earn as much as he wants. But under our modern government regulations, the productive workers must divide the fruits of their labor with those who are lazy and idle." And they all lived happily ever after, including the little red hen, who smiled and clucked, "I am grateful, for now I truly understand." But her neighbors became quite disappointed in her. She never again baked bread because she joined the "party" and got her bread free. It was now imported bread and brought through the border from Mexico. And all the "Administration" smiled. "Fairness" had been established. Individual initiative had died, but nobody noticed; perhaps no one cared... as long as there was free bread that "the rich" were paying for. Bill Clinton is getting $12 million for his memoirs. Hilary got $8 million for hers. That's $20 million for memories from two people, who for eight years repeatedly testified under oath that they couldn't remember anything. IS THIS A GREAT COUNTRY, OR WHAT?

Well happy birthday Don. I still think any Vet at this age who isn't a mess is lucky. Like this morning with the Morphine and sleeping pills I didn't get any sleep. I think back after 12 years in the Army they were treating me like crap over my profile so I got about and did what my commander told me to and applied for VA Disability. Than it has been a whole life battle from 83 to get anything even with my Army medical records. I spent the next two years sending for accident reports, etc. because my records were not clear as to how I got the injuries. Than I got to the point they said OK, your a mess and sent me to collage. I was also told that most of the things were something that can't be fixed, so learn to live with the pain. Right now I am still more upset with Social Security than the VA because I started for a 100% at the same time and the VA came through last November while these guys are telling me maybe sometime next year. I started working when I was sixteen and only didn't work while in school. I guess the problem many of us had was working hard for a living while a bunch of people out side the country moved here and got our money and the other half here just got on welfare. My opinion is meant as a non political comment because the whole country is a mess with giving so much away and now saying they can't afford to keep paying benifits. Like right now I know a couple of woman getting more in food stamps, child support and aide than my one son makes a month with a wife and one kid. Well maybe I am up all night in part to because I went and talked to them last night and went over their bills after he told me the other day he can't hardly afford to put gas in his car to get to work. Well I am at least happy that people that are heads of oil companies can afford to get two lobsters for lunch these days but I feel they are milking everyone in our country dry. Here in good old Indiana they are handing out property tax bills that are twice as much as last year. Oh wait that is because of fuel cost too as we are told. Right now I wish I was back over at Mark's talking to some of you by the campfire, that was the best time I have had lately. For those of you fighting for benifits, please don't ever give up or try to lump all those people as heard at Mark's in one group. The VA & a VA hospital are two different groups. and those people are in either one. You can fight for PTSD and get the VA to agree you have a claim. I have found out that has to be done first to even be sent to a C&P exam. Than if you go in and get a dead beat doctor or someone who can care less you maybe screwed. If so turn right around and start fighting for another exam. This is the same with anything you feel was caused in the service. Flight I hope one day soon we can all read a post that has nothing to do with the VA but also I hope we can find more of the 129th missing members and know the answers to give them in the future. Take care guys, sorry if this was too long.

It is a slow process returning the colors to solid but it has so much more detail. In a land far away, and long ago, there was an eagles nest. Small,as eagle nest go, but very fierce eagles lived there.Early each morning, the eagles would spread their wings and soar on the winds.Sometimes they would soar as if to reach the sun, other times, the trees would caress their wings. The young birds were hungry, they would circle their prey, swooping down to bite and striketheir prey.Other days, they were just content, to float on the winds,as free as the clouds. There were days when the eagles lost feathers, they were mourned, but others grew back quickly. When feathers were lost, the birds didnt soar quiet so high, or so proudly. The eagles were the lords of the forest and the plains. They feared nothing and had the respectof all who lived in that far away land,so long ago. Then the day came, the day it was decided to leave the nest behind. All the eagles had to depart.Brother eagles had to seek their own way, into new lands, into new times. The nest lay broken, empty, far behind.Yet,on the winds, one still might hear an eagles cry. There was no more,a band of eagles. Each had to seek his own way. They were lonley. The respect they knew, was no more.No longer lords of the forest and plains, yet they still sought to soar. Many didnt. Many chose to eat the ferminted grapes,or the poisen berrys, lest they remember days of yore. Some chose to hide,to look like other birds, never speaking of blue skies and fair winds. Some remained eagles, but the nest was gone. After the nest was gone, new ones walked the forest and the plains. They didnt know, nor care, about the eagles nest or the birds that lived there. It was the same where ever the eagles went. The eagles got old, lost the edge to their sharp beaks and talons.Their feathers, which once glistened in the sun, were now old and grey.Stooped shoulders, hard of hearing, and eyes not as sharp as they once were. The young looked and didnt see,the eagles that once soared the winds of war. Nor could they look beneath the feathers, and still see an eagles beating heart, a warriors heart.Empty nest and broken egg shells are all that remain,of that land, far away and long ago.The eagles no longer soar, but walk the land now, still with a warriors beating heart.

Hi Flight! Many of you who attended the Orland reunion remember us asking Phil and Simon about the British saying "Bob's your uncle". It basically means "your set" "things are good". But I was asking them about the origin. Thought some might like the answer: It's a catch phrase dating back to 1887, when British Prime Minister Robert Cecil (a.k.a. Lord Salisbury) decided to appoint a certain Arthur Balfour to the prestigious and sensitive post of Chief Secretary for Ireland. Not lost on the British public was the fact that Lord Salisbury just happened to be better known to Arthur Balfour as "Uncle Bob." In the resulting furor over what was seen as an act of blatant nepotism, "Bob's your uncle" became a popular sarcastic comment applied to any situation where the outcome was preordained by favoritism. As the scandal faded in public memory, the phrase lost its edge and became just a synonym for "no problem." Hope you are all well - can't wait to see you all again soon! Bill Wolf

WOWOW!!! Setting here contemplating on just how to express the wonders that I had this fabulous weekend at the Jackson woodpile bunkhouse/campgrounds. It just keeps getting better each time that I attend one of these reunions, be it one of the biggies or one of our more personal minnies. The love and brotherhood I experience at these make me marvel at how lucky I was to have been "derose shuffeled" up to the 129th and how 40 years later have the oppertunity to relive the past with such a great "familey"!!. You folks that didn't get to it were missed and talked about!!!. Spelling has always been a skill I have somewhat lacked. I do care, but not enough to take the time to look something up. Heck,I would spend all my time looking up words instead of trying to get my message across...which is THE important thing anyway.Posting in here is important to many of us. I should hate to see the time come when someone doesn't post simply because of spelling errors or embarrassment. It's just not that important in my opinion. Posting in here is. Sure, some post are a bit more difficult to read than others, but for me, reading them is a labor of human warmth and compassion for my 129th brothers, maybe even a labor of love, albiet, a small one. I do have spell check, and cant use it half the time cause my spelling is so bad. Its a PIA. Cannot we overlook a few grammical short comming in the higher interest of continuing input from our brothers? Yes, I know, half the time I dont capitolize and thats ok with me. Without exception, every single person that posts in here that I have met,a good hearted, kind ,unselfish, senitive folks.

I served with some of the best guys in nam. I wasn't easy for anyone to endure the saddness of war. I lost some of my friends but I think alot made it back. But the ones that made it home still have to live with the horror. We all tried to think of it as a job and be responsible for each other but after a few years it prays on your mind of all the killing and lost that we suffer. I was hard for years until I had a breakdown and then I was able to talk with my wife about it. I have sence been able to be a real father to my children and granchildren. I wish that all will be able to find piece with themselves and do the same as I have. Life will easier to handle if you can. I wish all the best in life. I was a gunner in the 129th lt helicopter Co in 1967-1968. SP/5 James C Ellis.

Rules for Catch 22,Summer Driving. Dont drive a marginial working radiator Work car (read that "piece of crap"(POS)).Dont wait till late morning to drive, when afternoon temps are fast approching.Dont take the interstate, when the speed limit is 70,most people are going 80 and you,in your POS,are going 55.Even at 55,say for example, the radiator is getting "10 units" of heat in,but only cooling "9 units".Thats with the defroster on and the heat/fan on high. Dont pull overon the interstate, to cool the engine, anywhere around where a State Trooper is already pulled over, espically somewhere within his view ,in front of him.(huh?,whats those pretty blue lights, real close, in my mirror?).Dont take the next exit, miles from anywhere, to find a back road,so to drive slowly to keep engine cool, cause it adds an extra 30 miles,in the middle of hot afternoon tempts, thus making a poor choice, even worse.Do drive at the edge of the road, while motioning traffic behind you to pass..even the guy in the spandex, on the bycicle.Dont stare at the heat gauge to long, the traffic light ,fast approaching( or in this case, slowly approaching) cause it might have turned red ,while your imagining a drop on the heat gague needle.Do have good brakes.Makes sure ALL your windows roll down,ALL the way.Dont leave a chocklate candy bar on the dash, for ANY lenght of time.Dont count the corn plants,in the fields and you roll by..there might be another red light.. or some guy in spandex,on another bycicle, wanting to pass.Dont go to Marks old house, thinking you can find his new house from there..dont ask the mailman standing there either...he eyes you like you are caseing the place.I had a great time,no kidding...those reunions are getting very special.CP..I am very sorry I missed you.Great to meet new brothers and sisters, and the family members of our fallen.Phil and Simon, was great talking to you guys on the phone.Hopefully, I will ahve a new radiator in place, for Kokomo.lol

Alex, tried forwarding a message to your new email that I sent out to the old one last week and it came back undeliverable. I copied it off of your post here of a few days ago. !!alfernwal@comcast.net!! I added the exclamation marks so the weirdo's couldn't pick it up... Fred A, you made me nostalgic for flying with your post. I loved every minute that I was flying except when those little people were shootin at me. When we crashed Bulldog 465 in june of 69, It was right about the time that we were training Koreans to fly helicopters. The next day or two after that I pulled a mission to resupply the Matterhorn with one of the Koreans as PP. It was a bit windy up there as usual, and lets just say he was doing a bad job of it. I got so nervous that day that I went to the dr. and asked to be taken off of flight status. He said he would do that for a week. Well, that week felt like a month to me, and I couldn't wait until it was over so I could go back to flying. I didn't realize how much I loved doing it until I did that. Never had a problem with being nervous the rest of my tour. Thanks for reminding me Fred...Rob

Flying along, cool breeze blowing thru the open doors, rythmic beat of the blades, shadows racing across the landscape. Guns down, no passengers, plenty of JP-4, no lights, all gagues in the green. Radios tuned to FM, good music playing, "good" pilots, even had a letter from home yesterday and a care package from Mom. Gouda cheese, cookies, the local home newspaper wrapped around everthing for protection. There is goning to be a company party tonight, which means free cold beer and steaks.Been flying lots of hours, but nothing beats this. Empty aircraft, beautilful scenery, last job done, headed home. No stress today. No asshole majors,no combat assaults,no aircraft missing,no demands, ship fresh out of a 100 hour so post flight should be a breeze, and pilots and a gunner that will help if need be. Monsoons just over, everything is greener,if thats possible. Kids rounding up water buffalo below us, some guy on a Honda, motoring down the highway, followed by one of those funny Lambretta buses. Tired, but a good tired...and they ask us why we want to fly?

As a 1st timer at LZ Orlando... I have to say to anyone out there who's never gone, for whatever reason....You should go to a reunion... Even if you 'don't do things like that'... Even if it's a little difficult to get there... Even if you usually feel a little awkward around people when you meet them for the first time..... no matter... just go to one.... You will feel loved, welcomed, and one of the family (even an outsider like me...) Even this much after the fact... thinking about you guys and gals warms my heart, and uplifts my spirit.

Alvis, hay do you think you could make it to my place in Lafayette early Thursday morning? If so you could ride with us to Mark's. If you look on a map we take 65 North to the 52 exit in Lebanon, it is the last exit. Than NW to 28 West (Left Turn), than to 100 East and turn Right (North) for about 2.2 miles and we are on the right. Our home phone is 765-538-2273 & my cell is 765-490-5618 so call if you think that would work better for you, it is about an hour from the VA hospital.

The reson I wanted it is beacuse it has 1965 corvete double hump heads (194 valves) and an Elderbrock single plane, tourquer II mainfold.Heck, that 250 bucks worth of stuff just there..used.In a letter home from Vietnam in 72,I said that I might buy a veete when I get home.Never bought that vette..but I do have an engine for one now,or will have when i get it how i want it.

Good morning Flight and thank you very much for your comments about the VA. This was the first time I have been so disappointed in my treatment seeing they had all my medical info and didn't seem to care. I also didn't know that the Hospitals here have closed the mental health units. Just know the para medics gave me the standard shot they give vets with PTSD and my mind shut down. My wife told me that I broke one set of restraints while bending the 1/2" steel plates they were attached to while my blood pressure was near stroke level. Anyway thanks for your support.

Well hope all my Brothers and Sisters of the 129th family had a safe July 4th. Worked all day. Last night someone started shooting fireworks. I came unglued. Don't like sudden loud noises. Good to see Gerald and Joe post. Just wished they could have been in Orlando to see Ray Foley. It's been a bitter sweet last month. Charlie Rains passing away and seeing Rainer and Ray Foley along with my 129th Family. Plus our extended family Phil and Simon and their wives. Life is getting short for alot of Vietnam Vets. We here today and gone tomorrow. I encourage all whom read this log. The next time a 129th reunion comes up. Try to make it. Over the years I have had the opportunity to meet alot of you. It's been an experience I cherish. And, it's been and honor to serve beside you in Vietnam. Always A Brother!!!!

Tonight's 'News Hour" on PBS showed in silence 20!! more of our dead. Most were a current generation of Army. Over the past week there was one night of 16 - another of 12 -or whatever - and so on and on! I cry every time over this situation as the names and faces are shown. And just like in our day 40 years ago the average American goes right along with the ordinary business of living - with no sacrifice at all! Gerald -'66.

Hey Hey.. Happy 4th of July to everyone!!... Ken Strong, boy it sure is disapointing to read that that kind of stuff if going on right under out noses! It makes you wonder just what you can do about it but I'd bet that wouldn't get very far either.. If in fact you really did attack a police officer it would be interesting to see the report and know how you got out of that one.. Sounds a bit suspicious to me, like a way to justify the misstreatment that you recieved. More like the louder you squack, the harder they hit you.. Anyway.. U all have a great holiday and take care.. C U L8r... Kal...>>>

Ken, somrthing like that just happened to a friend of mine, from a poetry site.He was locked down in the physc ward in Shariden Wyo, VA hosp. They can keep you for 3 or four days, with no rights, what so ever.If they deem you a danger to yourself,or others, they can keep you even longer.

Hey Flight: If you took photos or video at the Orlando reunion and can share them with me, I am making a video of the reunion. If its just a few, you can email them to me (up to about 12mb per email) or mail them to me on cd (6433 Summer Grace St, Colorado Springs, CO 80923). I'm going to start working on the video on Thursday of next week (the 12th) so if you can get them to me by then it will be appreciated. When done, I'll make copies available to who ever wants them. Happy 4th Flight, I got home from a short stay at the VA Hospital late yesturday afternoon to find my book was in the mail. Bill thank you so much for your work and I only hope now there will be a second addition in a couple years with more from the time I was there. I know there are still so many pictures out there and stories from our guys that need to be told. I just finished watching the CD with some tears in my eyes thinking of how young we all were. At the moment I have a neck brace on and in a wheelchair, but now I have to get moving again to go to Mark's. We had a misunderstanding here on Friday as my shots were wearing off and my wife called 911. They woke me up in the middle of a nightmare and than shot me full of drugs when they found out I suffer from PTSD. Folks that is not a good thing as they took me straight to the nut house at the VA in Indy where I was so confused as to why I was even there. I just know that I woke up with bruses from head to toe being told I had attacked a police officer. That never happened and I was for the first time upset about how I was treated by the VA Staff. For those of you still trying to get rated for PTSD, they still treat you like a drunk or drug abuser. There was a black retired lady from the Golf War who stood up for me and the way I was treated. I am sorry to vent on this Great Day, but still feel that so many don't understand or show compassion for the Vets needing treatment. Or as she told them, they wouldn't have a job at the VA if not for us. I know this is not a normal subject here but I was in a room with a Korean War Vet because someone called to say he stayed at home and drank too much. He was one of the most strong willed guys that I have ever talked to and sure was not crazy. His only point was that he had a place to live and paid his bills. SO What Business was it of anyone if he drank too much? Like the guy told me he had his own demands to deal with and his drug of choice was in a beer can. He had been up there for three weeks and they were saying he might have to go to a nursing home. Guys I guess this time I saw the guys point of view. I am not sure if Adult Protective Services or the VA should have the right to treat us that way. I had a medical problem here at home but recall someone saying I didn't have medical insurance and anyway they couldn't treat someone at the hospital with PTSD. They dropped me off at the VA to be locked up without any rights or medical treatment till late Monday afternoon. The first day I asked for help getting up and into a wheelchair. It was like a nightmare because he helped me up with the chair across the room. Than let go of me and said to walk to it, instead I just fell to the floor. They got me back into bed by bashing my head around even more with a nurse telling me I deserved what I was getting after attacking a Policeman. That treatment went on all weekend but managed to get a neck brace on Sunday. When I did get to talk to the head shrink with my wife on Monday afternoon I got x-rays taken to make sure all my nuts and bolts in my neck were still in place. This is the second time I was on this ward, the first time really did lock in the PTSD. So in Indy all you have to do is tell a doctor he is stupid and you get a one way trip upstairs. I think I know why so many guys are afraid to seek treatment because it seems that is where you end up. This time I was the very medications they gave me that got me right back up there. They did tell me to make me feel better that it would help get to P&T for PTSD. I just need to make sure it never happens again to me. Also my wife talked to them many times over the weekend trying to explane my medical problems and they asured her I was being well taken care of. My oldest son came to visit me and noticed the cuts and bruses all over my arms, but I was afraid to tell him anything with the staff setting there. So has anyone ever had something like this happen to them at any other VA hospital? Take care guys.

Bill Wolf.....there are two answers to your posting on the Tiger web site. This is one... Hello, Mr. Bill Wolf, I am pleased to find your posting with compliments on Tiger Division troops. During my duty as an infantryman 1966-1969 under the ROK Tiger Division, I was frequently airlifted by the US choppers for the various operation commitment. I take this opportunity to sincerely thank US helicopter pilots and crews as well for their brave acts and courageous skills shown in the Vietnam War. A regrettable memory I experienced during the O-Jakyo operation conducted by the Tiger Division in 1967 is that one day we were airlifted and about to land at a point where enemies started firing against us, and due to the VC's shooting the chopper was unable to completely land at the ground surface. At that time US chopper crews hurriedly forced us to jump out even at the height of approximately 2 meters high by kicking our back. When I jumped out with total weight of more than 100kg including my individual gears, I was slightly stuck by a bamboo spear. However, I had to bear it under such a critical situation. I have never forgotten courageous US comrades for decades since that time. I am now residing in Saigon. It is my sincere hope that I might be able to share a couple of coffee with you should you be in Saigon in the future. Thanks again. With regards, Han Ho-sung A Tiger Division veteran, Saigon

just thinking.......Simon and Nina's son, Bradly, is a great collector of military objects. Believe me, I have seen part of his collection, which includes WORKING radios from WW2 bombers, a Thompson sub machine gun, a very nice 303, and much more. He has a wall full of old WW2 uniforms, medals, and shelves full of war booksand a 129th AHC cap.(so has his dad,Simon). I am thinking this fine young man just might be the right person to aquire a Tiger and White Horse ROK Div. patch. It would be the only set in the UK!

Kal, this is the response I recieved from the Tiger web site, when asking about patches for you. ( is this a great bunch of guys or what?) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jae-sung Chung: Great to hear from you again. No problem. I'll be more than happy to send you patches that the 129th AHC comrades want to have. Alvis, could you please let me know approximate number of patches(Tiger & White Horse) you might be needing for distributing to those who really wants to collect? I have, personally, time to time, sent these patches to the US Vietnam War veterans for years at their request. It is a drop in the bucket for us to provide our blood bonded brothers in arms with such tiny souvenirs. As soon as I get response from you, I will in no time ship to you. Thanks. -[07/03-11:01]-

Author, and to the other guys that have "newly" found us.Author, as I told you at the reunion, i would post the addy for the Tiger Div,english speaking side, web site. Its worth a vist, many pictures and stories from our combined operations, but from their eyes.Remember, English isnt their language, so some of the reading isnt as easy as it is in here. These guys are very proud of their history, and justly so. Whenever I go in there and post, I am very polite and extremely respectful. That has worked for me. No one likes getting bashed and sometimes, we didnt treat them with the respect they deserved...KAL.. I just posted a request for a trade for two of their patches,as you ask me to,..it may take a few days to recieve an answer.
