Traffic was a great group. Thanks for the up date freddy.Alex, glad to see you back, excuse the pun.Alex, what I am trying for is a tax exemt- non profit status for the 129th. Basicaly,it means any time or money donated to the 129th can be claimed on taxes,if one has enough deductions to take advantage of it.Also...also...smiling and hopeful here,it opens doors to get a helicopter as a static display.."slick on a stick",for free, with us being able to raise tax deductable funds for such.It also allows marks muesum to be tax free.It opens doors that we,as a group, shall have to investigate, heck.maybe we can even get a dictionary for spelling. It will mean something to the xmas fund and the reunion fund as well.Genyly probably knows more about it than myself, heck most folks probably do. Anyway, waiting for sugestions on so far posted by laws. The two first orders of biz that I can think of is getting by laws for our non- veteran friends and electing a board....board first. We need to decide how many board members we want and what to call them...ROBBIE..input here please.I suggest 3 to five.

Fred A. non-tax exemption? Here in Tenn. it means you don't pay tax at time of purchase. But, pay at the end of the year. I don't know if each state is different. I know it's has sections for the resale of merchandise or for personal like churches whom do not resell stuff. I want to thank you for your time and effort and taking the initiative to research all this information for us. Any way I can help you. Please feel free to email me. I think you have gotten the By-Laws down to where they need to be. You have done a great deal for the 129th Family, with everything you have on your plate right now. Stay strong my Brother and your 129th Family is standing beside you and Susan. Flight: It is great to be back. Hope to find out thurs. when they will do surgery on my left eye. Pentagon Says Veterans' Benefits "Hurtful" to National Security............. During a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal (1-25-05), Pentagon official David Chu, in a mockery of the contribution of veterans, defended a new round of cuts by ironically describing funding for programs like veterans' education and job training, health care, pensions, Veterans Administration (VA) housing and the like as "hurtful" to national security. Despite politicians pretense that spending increases for the VA budget under the administration have been large, new spending has neither matched inflation over the same period, nor does it keep pace with growing need. For example, as private sector health care costs skyrocket, veterans are turning more and more to the military's health insurance program, Tricare. Retired service members account for half of the people covered by Tricare, whereas just five years ago they accounted for only 40 percent. The administration wants to find ways to stem this tide - none of which have anything to do with keeping private sector insurance affordable. The slow rate of VA spending growth enforced by the congressional politicians over the last four years won't cover growing deferred benefits, such as education, housing, retirement, health care and so on, promised to current service members or that are supposed to be available for new enlistees. Slow spending growth isn't even the biggest immediate problem for vets. In the last two years, the administration ordered the closing of several VA hospitals in different parts of the country, pushing waiting lists for medical services for veterans as high as six months for about 230,000 vets. These closings followed in the wake of the congressional politicians` concerted drive in 2003 to cut $15 billion from VA spending over the next ten years. According to an Associated Press story about a leaked White House Budget Office memo, plans to slash veterans' health care benefits by over $900 million and veteran's housing programs by $50 million in 2005 alone. A Center for American Progress analysis says, "The administrations 2005 budget would increase prescription drug co-pays from $7 to $15 for many veterans. In 2002, the co-pay went from $2 to $7." This co-pay increase would have the biggest impact on "near-poor" veterans whose incomes are just high enough to require that they pay the new premium. In fact the politicians are so desperate to cut veterans' benefits they have started attacking fellow party members who want to preserve current benefit levels. The Wall Street Journal reports that "the House leadership took the unusual step of stripping New Jersey Rep. Christopher Smith of his chairmanship of the Veterans Affairs Committee" for pushing "so aggressively for veterans benefits that he at times threatened to oppose their spending plans unless more retiree benefits were included." The Wall Street Journal attributes the fact that the politicians haven't been able to cut more from the VA budget to the work of large veterans' lobby groups such as the Military Officers Association of America and other veterans groups like American Legion and Vietnam Veterans of America who have consistently blocked cuts and have pushed for expanded programs and spending. Veterans groups have called for expanded VA hospital usage, larger retiree, disability, and survivor benefits, equitable pay for service members and better access to health care and health insurance for retirees and survivors. The politicians lament the fact that increasing entitlements promised to veterans have forced them to limit the growth of spending for questionable missile systems and other weapons programs. New funding for the war on Iraq, they claim, is also in jeopardy as long as so much new military spending is set aside for veterans' programs. These politicians want to force American taxpayers to choose between their vision of "national security" and taking care of the people who have provided that national security. While the politicians would like to see tax dollars handed over to the big defense that fund their election campaigns contractors - their version of an "entitlement program" - they will also have to deal with the 28 million people who sacrificed their time and lives in the US military. The Pentagon plans to reduce deferred benefit packages and increase one-time cash awards for new enlistees in the hopes of reducing, even eliminating, long-term benefit programs. In other words, recruiters will ask young people to sign up with enticements of several thousand-dollar payments and forget to tell them that they could have more for college. Further, one Pentagon official said that they'd like to change existing benefit plans to cause older service members to retire early and thus have smaller pensions and fewer benefits. Meanwhile, politicians are blocking an effort to eliminate premium payments for some retirees who receive Medicare. Also, the reliance on reservists in war on Iraq to participate in longer terms of active duty without adequate increases in pay is a de facto pay cut that affects thousands of service members who share equally the risks of military service. The politicians effort to cut veterans' benefits is just another sign of their callous attitude to the vast majority of people in this country. They feel that the very rich are entitled to hundreds of billions in tax cuts, but do not feel the least twinge of guilt in forcing veterans to forego the benefits and services promised in return for their sacrifices. This week the administration announced their request to Congress for another $80 billion, bringing the total spent on his war to $280 billion. But politicians wants you to believe that the real threats to national security are retired veterans who need food, shelter, and medical care.

Well Fred I can not answer your questions on that subject. Top has been retired for 12 years now. And when I retired in Dec 92 my soldiers never pulled KP except when in the field. I had assigned cooks and used them when in the field but at garrison it was a consolidated mess and so cooks from several units utilized one mess. Heck the last time I pulled KP was durring TET at Lane!!!! Take care brother. Rick

Rick, I just gotta ask because, "Top knows everything that goes on". But do they still pull KP duty in the Army now, like state side? When I was in Germany in 71, they sub-contracted the KP`s. And state side they had civilian cooks at the U.S. Army Prep School, Ft Belvoir,Va. where I was assigned as cadre before going to Nam. And the OCS mess hall had civilian cooks also. I would venture to say they were chefs, not just cooks. And prior career military themselves.

Being an old First Seargeant my thoughts are that they would start the married wounded on separate rations to help out their families since they are no longer receiving combat/hazzardous duty pay or separation pay and only charge them for the meals they eat. Just like it normally would if a soldier on separate rations ate a meal in the mess hall.

Separate Rations!!!! I lived "off post" in Germany, but we maintained a wall locker and bunk for inspections. There was four of us guys that rented a house, but we ate most the time on post. Was that guys that would have to sign a separate sheet in the mess hall? Now I remember, they were married guys, that lived in post housing. Man they are getting strict, I figured they would " cut them some slack" because they were wounded or hurt in Iraq. On "separate rations", do they give a family enough money? Here in the states, are all the mess halls, sub-contracted out now? Most the guys I knew that was married, their wives and kids were back in the states, did they(the wives) get money while their spouse was "out of country"? Thanks Rick

Hey Fred, I looked at that article and was not surprized. Didn't you ever stay in a military hospital? I had several operations and since I was on separate rations I was billed the appropriate meal rate which was understandable. Those married wounded soldiers whom may now again drawing separate rations since their return may be the ones they are referring to. The article said some. Those soldiers whom are single (not on separate rations, and usually eat in the mess hall)would not have that charge. The article leaves alot out to draw a fair conclusion since like always we do not know all the facts. Take care and have a nice day.

RMy North Vietnamese captors deliberately poisoned and murdered a female missionary, a nurse in a leprosarium in Ban me Thuot, South Vietnam, whom I buried in the jungle near the Cambodian border. At one time, I weighed only about 90 lbs. (My normal weight is 170 lbs.) We were Jane Fonda's "war criminals." When Jane Fonda was in Hanoi, I was asked by the camp communist political officer if I would be willing to meet with her. I said yes, for I wanted to tell her about the real treatment we POWs received... and how different it was from the treatment purported by the North Vietnamese, and parroted by her as "humane and lenient." Because of this, I spent three days on a rocky floor on my knees, with my arms outstretched with a large steel weights placed on my hands, and beaten with a bamboo cane. I had the opportunity to meet with Jane Fonda soon after I was released. I asked her if she would be willing to debate me on TV. She never did answer me. These first-hand experiences do not exemplify someone who should be honored as part of "100 Years of Great Women." Lest we forget..." 100 Years of Great Women" should never include a traitor whose hands are covered with the blood of so many patriots. There are few things I have strong visceral reactions to, but Hanoi Jane's participation in blatant treason, is one of them. Please take the time to forward to as many people as you possibly can. It will eventually end up on her computer and she needs to know that we will never forget. RONALD D. SAMPSON, CMSgt, USAF 716 Maintenance Squadron, Chief of Maintenance

That she was recognized by Barbara Walters in connection with an award of greatness lends credence to stories of her disloyalty and only serves to increase my contempt for her.... and the liberal media. A TRAITOR IS ABOUT TO BE HONORED She really was a traitor. A TRAITOR IS ABOUT TO BE HONORED KEEP THIS MOVING ACROSS AMERICA This is for all the kids born in the 70's who do not remember, and didn't have to bear the burden that our fathers, mothers and older brothers and sisters had to bear. Jane Fonda is being honored as one of the "100 Women of the Century." Unfortunately, many have forgotten and still countless others have never known how Ms. Fonda betrayed not only the idea of our country, but specific men who served and sacrificed during Vietnam. The first part of this is from an F-4E pilot. The pilot's name is Jerry Driscoll, a River Rat. In 1968, the former Commandant of the USAF Survival School was a POW in Ho Lo Prison the "Hanoi Hilton." Dragged from a stinking cesspit of a cell, cleaned, fed, and dressed in clean PJ's, he was ordered to describe for a visiting American "Peace Activist" the "lenient and humane treatment" he'd received. He spat at Ms. Fonda, was clubbed, and was dragged away. During the subsequent beating, he fell forward on to the camp Commandant's feet, which se! nt that officer berserk. In 1978, the Air Force Colonel still suffered from double vision (which permanently ended his flying career) from the Commandant's frenzied application of a wooden baton. From 1963-65, Col. Larry Carrigan was in the 47FW/DO (F-4E's). He spent 6 years in the "Hanoi Hilton",,, the first three of which his family only knew he was "missing in action". His wife lived on faith that he was still alive. His group, too, got the cleaned-up, fed and clothed routine in preparation for a "peace delegation" visit. They, however, had time and devised a plan to get word to the world that they were alive and still survived. Each man secreted a tiny piece of paper, with his Social Security Number on it, in the palm of his hand. When paraded before Ms. Fonda and a cameraman, she walked the line, shaking each man's hand and asking little encouraging snippets like: "Aren't you sorry you bombed babies?" and "Are you grateful for the humane treatment from your benevolent captors?" Believing this HAD to be an act, they each palmed her their sliver of paper. She took them all without missing a beat. At the end of the line and once the camera stopped rolling, to the shocked disbelief of the POWs, she turned to the officer in charge and handed him all the little pieces of paper. Three men died from the subsequent beatings. Colonel Carrigan was almost number four but he survived, which is the only reason we know of her actions that day. I was a civilian economic development advisor in Vietnam, and was captured by the North Vietnamese communists in South Vietnam in 1968, and held prisoner for over! 5 years. I spent 27 months in solitary confinement; one year in a cage in Cambodia; and one year in a "black box" in Hanoi.

This isn`t politics.....this is just not fair...... Some wounded soldiers back from Iraq are having to pay for meals at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Most patients at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington have a lot on their minds: the war they just fought, the injuries they came home with, the future that lies ahead. The last thing a wounded soldier needs to worry about is where the next meal is coming from. But for hundreds of Walter Reed patients, that's a real concern. Starting this month, the Army has started making some wounded soldiers pay for the food they eat. at the hospital......... http://salon.com/news/feature/2005/01/27/walter_reed/in...

Jeff Dahmer was born in Milwaukee on May 21, 1960, In 1966, Lionel Dahmer, had completed his graduate work in Iowa and got a job as a research chemist in Akron, Ohio. Lionel and Shari Dahmer convinced Jeff to try the idea of college. In the fall of 1978, they drove him to Ohio State University, but he stayed drunk the whole semester and flunked out......I wonder what "frat house" he belong to? Fred S... that would be Jeff Hartings, Center for the Steelers. Yep come from 3 miles south of here. St Henry, Ohio. Also home town of Wally Post, Cinci Reds, Jim Lachey, Ohio State and Washington Redskins fame. Bobby Hoyne, Ohio State and Did some QB'in in the NFL fer a spell. Not sure if he is still in.......I "was" a Steeler fan once. Back during the Dynasty and the Steel Curtain days. My mum and dad are from Pittsburh orignally so I have relative ties back that way. Used to hang out in West Mifflin, Homestead,Penn Hills, Shadyside. Been to Kennywood Amusment Park lots of times. Dad graduated from Munhall HS. Suburb if the "Burg". My cusin from over there used to go to Cinci back then and Dee and I would head down and meet him to watch the Steelers/Bengals. Went 9 times and never saw the Steelers win once. We would go down the night befor the game and find out what hotel the Steelers were in and go and try to catch them walking round the joint. Rode the elevator with the likes of Benny Cunningham, Jack Ham, Mike Cruisak, Lynn Swann, Chuck Nole. Got all their autographs still. Used to jump to the ceiling when they made the field goal and drop to the floor and cry when they missed it. One day after a game I watched at home here, the neighbor lady came over ( a Bengal Fan ), and I rode her so bad that the refs cheated that I made her cry. I felt pretty stupid about it and started to question just why I was so advid about the NFL. Then, even though I hated the Browns, when they left Cleveland, I thought to myself as a fan, how can they do that to the fans. Then when the Steelers were in the SB in Phoenix with Odonald as the QB, he made a statement befor the game that he would be with the team for the duration of his career. Week after the game he went elsewhere for more money. Then their DF end Kevin Green. Long blonde hair left also I said. Thats it, I'm leaving too. Cut the hood off my coat that said Stealers and wrote on it. " Steelers are Stealers" and N.F.L. stands for "No Friggin' Loyality" and my new cheer became. " Go to hell, NFL".havent been interested in any kinds of Pro sports since. Glad of it too. if I was, this week I would be moppin' round over the Steeler's loss and Brown's fans would be rubbing it in so much it would make me mad. Dont have that stress NOMO. ;-))))...........T.I.N.S. Was at Steeler's hotel once and my cusin hollers our "ROOM SERVICE" in the hallway. Door opens and Lynn Swann is wheelin' his tray out to the hall. Door closes. I writes in me autograph book, " Love ya black and gold, pass around the room and sign" I lays the book at the door and knock on it and scoots to hide in the fire escape. Door opens and closes in 1 second. Me thinks that these guys sure do write fast. I come out of the fire escape to get me book and the door swings open, there stands Lynn Swann lookin' at me with his teeth grit. He procides to tell me that he knows that we fans are down here just trying to meet the players, but that they were trying to get some sleep and to leave them alone. Just then my cusin takes out his camera and snaps a photo. I was so scared that I upset Lynn that if he dropped a pass the next day it was my fault. After we get the film developed, instead of Swann gritting his teeth, he has a smile on his face for the camera.........anyways, my brush with a celebraty!!!!..........God Bless Spence............

Kim......Big Ben is from Findley,Ohio just "up the road" from Coldwater, he went to Miami of Ohio. And one of the Steeler`s lineman Jeff..? can`t think of his last name, he went to Saint Henry HS.....up the road from Coldwater, but went to Penn St. Mark what`s his last name? Sorry...I`m a big Mike Vrabel fan, he played at Ohio State and would do football camps for kids Parks and Recs in Columbus...he was a real personable guy. Vrabel, Shawn Springs and Shawn`s dad, Ron Springs(OSU and Dallas Cowboys) would do the camps. I`m a Browns fan....so I hate Pittsburg(not really) I like Tom Brady because he came so far, to be where he is now. He`s a Michigan guy, but I like Big Ten. Belichick!!!! He was a great coach at Cleveland, Art Modell had his own agenda, he wanted a new stadium and the Mayor Mike White didn`t want to build it with public funds( which he did anyway)Modell knew he was leaving and wasn`t gonna spend any money. Baltimore got the REAL Browns and a promise of the new stadium....buildt with public funds. People in Ohio still hate Modell over that move. Kim think about it....Red Sox, The Pats, of course a Celtics championship is out of reach.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Pats, and look forward to the next game. I always liked the Steeler's blue collar ethic, along with the defensive side of the game. One of the things that New England brings to the game is the team ethic. In an age of stupid showboating, self promotion, self aggrandizement, it's good to see a QB recognising the line, receivers, defense. Even more, the defense commenting on the power of the offense, instead of some clown bragging of how "I'm the greatest". It's a breath of fresh air in professional sports.

Paul, Freddie is usually pretty quick to point out the Ohio connection in any sports venue. I'm a little surprised he hadn't mentioned coach Belichick's tenure with the Browns!!! Too bad he wasn't good enough for Cleveland (smirk) Actually, I was always fond of the Steeler's, going back to mean Joe Green and friends. I don't understand Cowpher's game plan at all......oh well, next week is the big one!!!! It was amusing to think of all the empty seats, just wonder how many Pat's fans got stuck in Boston due to the weather. WE finally came out of the deep freeze today, after a week of sub zero stuff. 29 below last Saturday morning, warmed up to +5 and snowed! Ray, good to see you post, hang in there! :>))

Pilots.... they are indeed a special breed. Here's a quick grin on the subjectfrom Scott R. up in Wichita. John : ) > > > A 65 year old man went to the doctor for his Class II exam and the doctor was amazed at what good shape the guy was in. The doctor asked, "To what do you attribute your good health?" The old timer said, "I'm a helicopter pilot and that's why I'm in such good shape. I'm up well before daylight, climb all over the helicopter doing my preflight inspection, flying all day, etc." The doctor said, "Well, I'm sure that helps, but there's got to be more to it. How old was your dad when he died?" The old timer said, "Who said my dad's dead?" The doctor said, "You mean you're 65 years old and your dad's still alive? How old is he?" The old timer said, "He's 84 yrs old and, in fact, he built and flies his own airplane and he went flying with me this morning. That's why he's still alive, he's a pilot too!" The doctor said, "Well, that's great, but I'm sure there's more to it. How about your dad's dad? How old was he when he died?" The old timer said, "Who said my grandpa's dead?" The doctor said, "You mean your dad is 84 years old and his father is still living! How old is he?" The old timer said, "Grandpa is 102 years old and he was a pilot too." The doctor was getting frustrated at this point and said, "I guess he went flying with you this morning too?" The old timer said, "No...Grandpa couldn't go this morning because he just got married and he's on his honeymoon." The doctor said in amazement, "Got married!! Why would a 102-year-old man want to get married?" The old timer said, "Who said he wanted to?"

Meant to do this earlier, but oh well……..so here’s my bio - I was born December 26, 1946 in rural northeastern Nebraska. I grew up on the small family farm with my parents and two older brothers. Attended one room country school & graduated from high school in ’65. Mom taught elementary school for 31 years and Dad farmed his whole life before they retired to town in Hartington, Nebraska. When I was a boy I did a lot of hunting after inheriting my brother’s BB gun when I was 5 or 6. I never got in any serious trouble; the drug scene wasn’t really a part of country life at that time. Drafted into the Army in February of 1966. Did basic training at Ft. Leonardwood MO, and AIT at Ft. Rucker. Arrived in Vietnam Sept ’66. The biggest surprise getting off the plane was seeing how small the Vietnamese were. Spent the first month in the 129th at Tuy Hoa hauling water for showers and miscellaneous grunt work. I used to go to local rivers, rice patties or streams for water for the showers. Shortly after that a permanent service platoon was set up with the new guys, and I began working on helicopters. Tuy Hoa was where we had our first casualties. CE Robert Gilliam was one of them. He used to sit on my bunk and use the footlocker for a card table. Their ship was shot down in Phan Rang Pass. The first 7 months we lived in tents in the field. I spent Christmas & New Year’s Day of ’66 at Kontum. That’s where we had the big flare fight with an artillery outfit that was set up across the road from us. There were flares of every color going every which way until some top brass called and put a stop to it. We were in Song Mao, Tay Ninh, Khang Duong, and Phan Theit. Some of these places we only stayed a month or two. We went back to Dong Ba Thin for a month and then convoyed to Lane. I was there until I rotated November ’67. Alex was at Tuy Hoa when I arrived, rotated back to the States, and then came back to Lane just before I left. I met Gale at Lane. While at Tuy Hoa we were caught in the tail end of a hurricane, torrential rain and wind for several days. Many of the tents were old and ripped from top to bottom. We had to tie our ponchos up inside the tents to keep the rain off our cots. We had to keep moving our cots around just to find a dry spot. Tuy Hoa was where the EM Club got started. Everybody chipped in, a couple guys found a PX, bought beer and booze, got a large, deep freeze-type cooler from mess tent and in the morning when the mess tent truck would go into Tuy Hoa to get ice, they would get extra for us. One time when the guys were headed to the PX for beer, they found a truck stuck that was full of beer. They bought a whole pallet of beer from the driver for a few bucks. That definitely put us ahead in the EM Club business! I think we continued that EM Club setup until we got to Lane. While in the field, the only source of light you had a night while working on ships was a flashlight or you pulled a truck around to use the headlights. Some time just before arriving at Lane, someone got a hold of a generator that made it much easier. When convoying from Dong Ba Thin to Lane, some of the heavy equipment went by ship. When the guys got ready to unload at Qui Nhon, there was a wrecker/boom truck on the ship. Our guys thought it would be useful so they “brought it with them”. I met my wife, Sue, at Arnolds Park/Okoboji, Iowa. It is a summer vacation area with beautiful lakes, amusement park etc. We married in the spring of 1969 after dating 9 months. We will celebrate our 36th anniversary in April. We live in Central Wisconsin on 5 acres. I have a 1950 Ford 8N tractor. Landscaping, antiquing, our kids and grandkids keep us busy. Our son lives 3 miles away and has two little girls (7 mos. & almost 4 yrs.). He is in maintenance. Our daughter lives in St. Paul, and is a Speech and Language teacher working with elementary kids. I’ve worked in manufacturing, security, office installation, maintenance and am now semi-retired. I had a mild heart attack a few years ago but I am doing fine. Sue works at the local library. Five years ago Gale Beard tracked me down through the Internet, and we’ve participated in the 129th web site every since. Thanks, Gale! I only wish more of the guys from early on would find the web site and participate. Jim

its been a very long time, but i remember how i use to love to fly. the uh1 was (to me) the most perfect flying machine. At night i would walk down to the flight line just to look at my aircraft's outline against the night sky. And think of the flight that awaited the next morning. The wine of the engine, the whoop whoop whoop of the main rotor, and the radio breaking the silence in the early morning was the only reason i continued to extend in vietman. What ever waited us was worth the risk. after vietman closed down i was resigned to communictions, (crewchiefs were dime a dozen) i applied for flight school, was accepted but never got to go. so too the pilots and doorgunners that i flew with i thank you and my god bless each of you. donnie purvis

Kim, Phillips was a native-American kid from upstate New York, always was on slicks when I was there. Fred"Charlie"Brown...aka CB, was the Cobra`s armament man, when I was there. Fred Brown was the first armament person to be assigned to the Cobra Platoon, I think....Before that, they were in maintenance platoon. Fred Brown was "brillant" when it came to Armament Systems...... Cobra Baron(Gary) would tell you that...."CB" was the biggest pacifist in the world, which was kinda odd for a armament person. That reminds me....I got to give him a call at his "Waldens Pond". Kim, I`ll be lookin forward to you comin thru N.C.

Dave,Mark & Company, I'm still here, just been very busy with family and retirement. I have been retired for a year now and I am finally getting use to it. If I get bored I'll look for a part time job, right now I'm just getting a backlog of home improvements done. As soon as the lakes thaw I'll be going fishing. A wise man once said " give a man a fish.. he will eat for a day.....Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day"! Sounds good to me. Dave.. have you heard from Howard (shorty) Boling lately? The emails I send him bounce back. Take care all, CB

Crewchief Phillips...same same became armorer for the guns?? Dave, I'd forgotten about Apple, sorry to read of his passing. Freddie, we're putting together our plans for Key West in late March..a few days there, a couple in Fort Meyers,(take in a couple ballgames)a day in Panama City, maybe, then head north again. 16 below yesterday morning, warmed up to 10, then snow, now it's howling wind, back into the deepfreeze tonight!!! There's timesI wish our old paper mill would shut down, then we'd have a reason to head somewhere warm!!!!! Pension is too good to leave now, though. Besides, it's a good excuse to buy lottery tickets and support our local government :>))There's a saying that old age is when regrets take the place of dreams....I ain't old yet!!!! Big time E-nog-ger-aa-shun today maybe it's nice that Kerry is not on the podium, however..we're stuck with boy georgie!!! Maybe our govment should reinstitute the draft, just set the age at 60 plus, that way the ones who get killed won't be draining the social security system!! Maybe george would even join in with us this time!!!

Carl Brader, I know you're out there. Check in once in a while will ya? Great story, Mark. I flew my first real mission in Vietnam with Carl as my crew chief. The AC was Peter Abplanalp ("Apple", killed in a medevac crash in Denver about 4 years ago), and the PP was an ARVN who tried to hang us up in a powerline. I heard about Peter's death on a Denver news broadcast. Incidentally, Peter died trying to airlift a drunk driver from a car wreck scene one night... Apple hung it up in a powerline. It is indeed a small world.

.......Let me tell you a little story of the 129th that makes this world a small one....With Pop's passing and his businesses being in the transition period we have to re-up on all the franchises that he had. One of those companys is International Trucks and Parts. 2 days ago 2 gentlemen came down from the Chicago area to inspect the premises and quality of our shop and employees. Then will make a dicision if whether or not we get to keep the International franchise. One of the guys that came is named Bryan Kay. After inspecting the building they came into this office where I have some Veteran stuff hanging. The WALL names of the "257", the "257" print of Joe Klines "Gods Own Lunatics" that you gave us, "Reflections" , A military picture of Dad, and a picture of Larry cleaning his 60 on "The judge". The older guy was in the Air Force during the Vietnam War in Thialand..............Anyways.they came and went................now.........the next day I get a call from Bryan, the younger one of the guys, seems his father-in-law was asking him what he did at his job that day. He told him he was at a dealership in Celina Ohio. His father-in-law ask him what the name of the place was. Bryan told him, Jackson's. His father-in-law said, " yeah I know those people"..........His father-in-law is none other then our 129th member on this web page, Carl Brader. I'll be go to heck. What a very small world it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.always a brother that never ceases to be amazed of the power that the Lord has bestowed on this 129th web site..

Thanks to whoever sent the Randy California tribute and Biography. I wasn't aware that he had passed, and am saddened by the news. I'm glad that I was able to spend a small amount of time with him and experience his kindness, generosity and talent. At the time (1970) we WOCandidates stood out in a croud with our shaved heads and I was blown away that these Rock and Roll Icons were so nice to us. We even went Go cart racing with them at an adjacent track the day of their show. It would have been real easy for them to blow us off, but instead they showed an interest in us as young soldiers in troubled times, and I've always remembered their kindness. Thanks Greg

Randy California Tribute........ On January 2, 1997, the world lost one of it's most passionate songwriters, guitarists and vocalists. He was a man who touched millions of lives across five continents with his music and his special spirituality. Randy California was hailed as one of the world's best guitarists by renowned players like Eric Clapton and Ted Nugent. His songwriting resulted in such timeless material as I Got a Line on You, Nature's Way, 1984, Dark Eyed Woman, Prelude/Nothin' to Hide, and many more. Those who worked with him in the studio thought his layered harmonies and singing abilities were his greatest commercial strength.......... Despite Randy's many talents, this was a man known as much for his human kindness as his abilities. His thousands of loyal fans span the world, and they were perhaps least surprised that Randly California saved his son, Quinn, from drowning before being carried out to sea on that fateful day in Molokai. At age 46, Randy had led a heroic and difficult life. Attracted as a child to music and specifically the blues by his uncles, Randy became a child phenomenon who would perform at the age of 14 with Jimi Hendrix, who he met in a New York record store. Randy joined Jimmy James and the Blue Flames for five sets a night in Greenwich Village. It was Jimi who gave Randy his last name, (Randy Wolfe being his real name). When Jimi left for England he asked Randy to go with him, but Randy's mother felt he was too young, and moved the family back to California. In 1968, Randy embarked on a musical journey that would be the focus of his musical career for the rest of his life. He formed the band Spirit with bass player Mark Andes(Jo Jo Gunn), keyboardist John Locke, vocalist Jay Ferguson(Jo Jo Gunne, and his then-stepfather and close confidant, Ed Cassidy. Spirit's 1969 album The Family that Plays Together was a top-20 success and contained Spirit's biggest hit, I Got a Line on You. A year later, Spirit released one of the most critically acclaimed albums in the history of rock music. The Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus. It contained the song Nature's Way, which has become an anthem for a generation, expressing Randy's strong feelings for the earth and it's inhabitants. Nature's Way has been re-recorded by more than 20 artists and used in many films. The original Spirit broke up after it's initial success, but Randy and Cass would forge ahead with a collection of compelling works and some wonderful new musicians and albums. Potatoland was Randy's first album under the nom de plume of Kaptain Kopter, followed by Kaptain Kopter and His Fabulous Twirlybirds, and a couple of solo efforts. Subsequently, Spirit resurfaced on Mercury records with albums like Spirit of '76 and Future Games. In recent years, Randy and Cass continued to tour the United States and Europe to very enthusiastic crowds, releasing the records Rapture in the Chambers for IRS Records, and Tent of Miracles. Randy produced both records. In 1992, the band released a Spirit compilation, Time Circle, and was close to releasing a very interesting new blues disc called California Blues at the time of Randy's death. Without question, Randy California deserves his place as a legendary rock figure. Playing guitar solos with his teeth or slide guitar with a beer bottle, writing some of the most poigant lyrics in music history, and sending a shiver up your spine with his soaring vocals, (not to mention arm-wrestling at times with members of the audience), Randy cared about his music, his family, his friends and his fans. His Spirit will live on in countless ways. He will always be missed.

Here`s a "classic" for you Brother Kim.....House leaders want to exempt members of Congress from laws against discrimination that apply to private employers, despite the Contract With America pledge that "all laws that apply to the rest of the country also apply equally to the Congress" and a decade-old law that placed Congress under antidiscrimination statutes. Last week, in response to a discrimination lawsuit filed against a Democratic House member, Speaker J. Dennis Hastert, majority leader Tom DeLay, and majority whip Roy Blunt submitted a "friend of the court" brief on behalf of the House, saying members of Congress should be shielded from discrimination suits. Shielded my @$$!! These people are absolutely unbelievable... this is why I won't belong to a party any longer...... they both stink like week old fish.

Calley was sentenced to life, resentenced to twenty years, reduced to ten years, paroled after three and a half! I guess I have to wonder, just what does America stand for? Our history is full of people who put themselves above the law, a lot os towns, big and small, have stories of law enforcement people who abuse their offices. Our constitution is based on the (laugh) belief that we'd rather see a guilty person go free, than punish an innocent person! Under the UCMJ, a soldier cannot be punished for disobeying an illegial order, ala the Nurenburg trials. 'Just following orders' is not a defense. In my personal life, an eye for an eye works just fine! As an American, I'm supposed to let the law take care of any problem. How to reconcile the two?????
Kim
USA - Sunday, January 16, 2005 at 09:37:00 (MST)
While I agree he should be punished, I find it unacceptable that the people that directed this whole sordid affair are going to get away with it while Graner and others pay the price.

Fred Alvis, I agree that 10 years is nasty sentence, but the guy could have got 17 years. The guy was a bit arrogant in front of the press, he should have kept his mouth shut. Fred, you KNOW the CIA spooks are not gonna come forward speak-out for him. And the "chain of command", those people were running for cover. Is he a reservist, I noticed he had a few "hash marks" on his uniform. Plus if he has been in the reserves or active service for a while (8 to 10 years)......E-4 ranking is a bit of underachieving, or he had some issues himself. He said he was only following orders, some of us here at one time or another in service or on the job have heard, "Get the job done", with a wink. Or "You didn`t hear this from me, but do it". Chain of command had to to know something about this. All I know, if I was facing 17 years in prison for carrying out orders, I would have been on the stand, giving ranks and names. Snitching is not something I agree with, but it`s not like he was snitching on a powerful drug dealer or a crime boss.....Then again he may know something I don`t. Also he said he had NO remorse for doing his duty....even after he was convicted. BTW....Did Calley pull all of his sentence or was HE released early. Is there a appeal process in the military court system?

Wel flight,as you all have heard by now,Graner got 10 years for the iraq prison abuse scandel. While not agreeing with what he did..10 years is along time. Turn up a bottel, drive, kill someone and you get 2 years...maybe.Yes I jnow he perhaps made many more enimies of the iraq people, but 10 years is along time to be made an example of.It just seems out of balance in the scale of things to me.

If you are able, save them a place inside of you and save one backward glance when you are leaving for the places they can no longer go. Be not ashamed to say you loved them, though you may or may not have always. Take what they have left and what they have taught you with their dying and keep it with your own. And in that time when men decide and feel safe to call the war insane, take one moment to embrace those gentle heroes you left behind......... Wink - No I think the Statue of Limitations has expired on that crime, but I'm sure it was a crime under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Imagine that, getting in a cold helicopter to keep from freezing to death. Michael Shanley was the guy who helped us bore sight the rocket pods on the flight line. Had a room in the back of the lineshack. Helped us when we had problems with any of the weapons systems. All you people up there in & around Ohio, huncker down, try to keep warm, that weather up there keeps on keeping on, dont it? Take care. Frank

VETS..........whether you believe it or not, there has been someone with you longer then Mr. Loneliness. That would be GOD......I do not experience the level of defiance that you speak of due to the fact I never went through what you did, but I can attest for myself that when I have been faced with a wall ,only, only, GOD has torn it down. Now this is available to believers, and nonbelievers. I encourage you to read the book of Ecclesiastes in the Old Testament writen by King Solomom. The theme of it is "The Meaninglessness of Life Apart from God". Whether you are a beleievr or not, it is a spellbounding, thought provoking, book with a happy ending..............always a brother.....

I wish to aknowledge the one presence in our unit no-one talks about. No, it wasnt death, for he walked amoung us still and for some, returns for a vist from time to time.I suppose, he spent has much time in offericers country as he did the EM hootches.Sometimes he would sit by us amoung friends, sometimes besides us sitting at the club.Sometimes we tried to drive him away with drink or smoke.Sometimes we would get with friends but he would still be there.Sometimes, his presence would loom largest just after mail call.He wouldvist us anywhere, flying, sleeping, showering. He has caused the death of countless veterans, mostly after returning home, where he had the same face, but under a different guise. He helped induce alcoholism, drug addication, self distroying habits. He became so familar, some diddent even realize he was still there. He came home with us,sometimes becoming our most visited companion. His name was/is loneliness and he has killed countless. If you are out there and he is visting you, drop us a line here.Drunk or sober, someone will answer.

Dave, Give Ernie a call if you get the chance. Last time I talked to him he was doing back country 4WD tours. I'm off to Chicago tomorrow morning. Fred, I will be sure to experience some kind of local culture. Buddy Guy's club sounds cool. Everyone stay safe in this wild weather we're having. This is why I don't worry to much about living on an active volcano. Lava and ocean are much more predictable than mudslides, blizzards and floods. I'll check in soon, Greg

Fred Skaggs, I too was in Columbus around Xmas. Was there from 26-29 Dec. Father-in -law had to have emergency cardiac cath and stint inserted. Was done at Riverside McConnel (I think) heart hospital. Stayed on Olentangy Road. Damn parking lots were like driving on the moon. I mean they had no gravity, you didn't float away because they sucked so badly. Was fun using 4x4 tho. It must have been really bad when you went up if it took you 2hrs fron Circleville. We were ok as we stopped in Gallipolis on 22nd until the trip to Columbus. Retirement is ok but so far all I've done is work. Putting cabinets in garage. Gotta get started again. Take care!

Animal, do yourself a favor Bro, and check out "Buddy Guy`s Legends" blues club. Well Xmas was great at home......got to see everyone. The weather was "wild" , but I rented a new 2005 Silverado 4x4 Crewcab, and drove thru the mess to Ohio. Honestly...the sun was shining bright as I crossed over from West "By God" Virginia into Ohio. But I got just about 30 miles south(Circleville) and it started raining and ice mix and took us 2 hours to get home into Columbus. I got up the next morning and went to my Mom`s place..........she`s gonna have to move into a retirement community. She has fell 3 or 4 times and hasn`t told us. So we got to make a move of some type, semi-care community or some place where someone`s around to help. But I`m gonna to investigate "every place" before we make a move. The surgery was "so deep" that they cut nerves and lyphm-nodes(sp)....her legs will go numb and she just falls. Well the job.....there is and were issues on asbestos abatement in alot of these older structures. They are and still cutting corners in order to meet a March 1st deadline. Some of these structures are loaded with asbestos, and the ceilings became a problem with me. Because they just "painted" a sealant over them, you can`t do that. Water line break in a ceiling of a "high rise" structure, I`m not working on that stuff. I basically wouldn`t "sign off" on any work done by the contractors or any delivery of furniture or lighting or anything until I took my "own inventory". I caught one driver shorting me 4 chairs. Recliner chairs, that wholesale for $100 a piece.....I`m not paying or taking the responsability of that stuff without me seeing it or the packing carton. So when I picked-up my last check and small Xmas bonus, I told them that`s it........I`m done. They were in shock.......but my wife and I and my father-in-law agreed it was the best move for me. I know this sounds like "small potatoes" to you, but it`s a big thing with me. Enough of that!!! We heard on the news up-home that you had a little "ice storm" down here at Xmas. BTW......I got to go to the OSU vs Mercer basketball game, students were all gone and my buddies had some extra tickets, so the wife let me go......alone with the guys. Hell we are all in our mid 50`s and 60`s, so we couldn`t do to much damage. We were all home by 10:30 at night. Soooooo Kim LaVoie, I`ll be here with plenty of strong Columbian coffee and strong brownies for Linda and yourself. I`ll give you a call, I`m Gone

Thanks Everyone. The reason I will most likely not go is because of my grandpa. If any of you have experience with Alzheimer’s you know how hard to manage they are. It seems he gets worse everyday. I really won't know until very soon to it. He can't really drive anymore. He almost caught the house on fire heating up a can of dog food right on the burner (no grate thing.) Its getting really hard but he refuses any kind of notion to go to a nursing home and as much as he has been there for me I think I owe it to him to help as much as I can to let him live with dignity. My other grandparents had Alzheimer’s as well and the life they faced sucks. The nursing homes here suck as does the VA...they kicked a guy out of the home there (for dying people) because he was well enough but he died a week after in a nursing home._______About a year ago I had posted a link to a picture of a huey that my uncle had. It had a joker on the front and someone here told it was prob a 48th Huey. I made a few contacts then and have written them with no response yet, may be bad e-mails. Alvis I do appreciate that allot, I will take any help I can get with that.______I hope to make it to San Antonio but ya'll will know why if I can't :o)

Katharine, Wink a little more info on Michael Stanley. Wink you should remember him, he too was with the 238th AWC in Ft Riley trying to train during the freezing winter of 68 & 69 to go to Vietnam in March. Michael was the company armorer & WO Bill Dunlap was our Armorement Officer so they knew & worked with each other, at least, since Sep of 68. There were many of ex-238th personnel in the 129th. Katharine I am sure booth Michael & Bill would be proud to have you wear their bracelet & it is fitting they be together again. Frank.

Good morning everyone from a very chilly Montana. For what it's worth - I totally agree with giving Katherine the honor of wearing the bracelet. From a flightlette's perspective, there is so very little that we, your avid supporters, can truly do for you 129th'ers. This bridges a gap and gives one of us a little higher purpose in your ranks. Weather report.........not above freezing in Ohio yet. Power off and on at different places. Branches and trees damaged terrible. I have seen pictures of war that have shown places that have been shelled and some of the trees around here appear the same way. Tops busted off as if they were hit with incoming. Whole trees literly split in half. Dad used to tell me how before they went ashore on Okinawa that the Navy shelled the island for two weeks. Upon getting ashore Pop said that there was not a tree standing. No birds anywhere. Not a building on the whole island that had not been damaged. Yet they still met resistence and had to fight for the island from April until October of 45. The enemy was dug in that deep. I think that I have read somewhere that the amount of shells dropped on Okinawa was more then dropped the intire war elsewhere..God Bless and take care, always a brother,

Katherine, I think it is totally appropriate for you to wear both bracelets. It's a uniquely fitting way to honor both of them in this manner! Weather... it has been strange here in Colorado, too. New Year's Day in Telluride (2:00 a.m.) it was RAINING! During the past 10 days or so the temps have hovered just above freezing (except this morning). I normally dream of a brown Christmas, and got one this year! Speaking of Telluride, Animal, I've forgotten...what was the name of your taxi-driving buddy up there?

I agree with Alvis about William's bracelet going to Katherine to be worne along side Michael's to reunite them again. Alvis I agree, what an amazing thing it is that both of the bracelets have made their way to the 129th. This is truly Divine guidence. I also agree that it would be the honorable and right thing to do if we could have a ceremony in Texas of the bracelet being giving to the 129th to be giving to Katherine, or better yet, if Katherine could make it to San Antonio to receive it herself. Barbara, it is a wonderful thing that you want to honor Pam and William in such a way. I have also met Katherine, and she is truly the most correct and appropriate person who should be the care taker of the bracelet. Wow, I just get chills in me when I think of how things happen to this 129th family and how it just keeps growing and the stories of good things happening to us all the time. We are blessed brothers and sisters. Praise the Lord...........always a brother......

For those of you that dont know the story.Dunlap was flying a B model gunship with crew. The got a call in the darkness of night, that a special forces team (lurps) was under fire ,in desperate straits, and need help asap.He and another ship took off in the blackness that can only be described as the vietnam night sky. They headed up toward the An Khe Pass area.A flare ship was on station and helped the 2 gunships find the under fire group of wounded and still desperately fighting american soliders. After a gun run,Dunlap radioed, warning the other ship, that he had to make a sharp emergency left bank to avoid a mountian. That was the last transmission heard.Dec, 2nd,1969.No crash site was ever found and some think they were shot down and captured.Supposedly, the crash site STILL hasnt been found. The lerps were extracted, the guns did their usuall good job and saved them.Out of the 4 familys,Only one has excepted the remains as their family member. The remains were returned in march of 90.

Its only 5 months away and will give Barb a good reason to meet the 129th.

This is Dallas and it's been in the 20's here also! Only difference from those of you up north is that we'll be back in the mid-70's by the weekend! Wherever the bracelet goes is up to the 129th. Anything is fine with me. Finding you and seeing how important the bracelet is makes me feel like I have done what Pam would have wanted, and that's my mission. And what wonderful people I have found in the world with all of you!

Gale, we recieved about inches of snow then about 3 inches of rain in the last few days.Parts of southern indianapolis, near the river, are flooded. Water is across the roads in many neigberhoods.Freezing rain this morning and has now changed over to frozen sleet.that being said, the Roads are in better shape now than when you were last in town.I dont foresee any problems involing your road trip.I shouldnt have to say this, but you know that you and Debbie are always welcome to stop by.I am off at 3 friday with Susan being off at 10 fri. nite.Be careful in your drive, its getting colder as the day passes here with tempts falling into the mid 20s tonight. There is no snow left on the ground, the rain melted it all.

My feelings are the same as Alvis. Since Katherine graciously offered to watch over the bracelet and reunite Dunlap with Shanley and the 129th......I see no need to retire it to the museum at this time. That's my opinion, but, I'll go along with the 129th family decision. Alvis, how's the weather over there? We missed the bad snow and now we're missing the ice. It is snowing today, but, nuttin' on the ground. Mark, what's the latest on the museum? Any plans in the making? If you need help with anything let me know. Hope it doesn't get too bad......we have to make an Indy run Friday. Clear, Gale

just thinking out loud here,so bare with me.Just tossing out a few thoughts for your consideration in the bracelet.Mark is setting up the meusem, but its not up and running yet.Dunlap and Shanley died together.Pam wore the bracelet proudly for years, doing us and Dulap much honor. So did/is Katherine. If Katherine recieved the bracelet,Dunlap and Shanley would be reunited and hopefully, both will be sent to Mark at some futher date.Katherine carries Shanleys bracelet proudly, honorably, and with deepest respect,as I am sure,Pam did.Katherine,s heart is as big as Texas, and from personal metting her,she is a nice lady as well.I would also think some sort of ceremony in Texas,of returning the bracelet,William Dunlap,to his unit,to his home, sort to speak, would be wonderful.I think its wonderful that both bracelets have turned up here, tho the circumstances are full of sadness. It is my hope that Dunlaps bracelet will find its way to a final resting place with mark and the other momentos from our unit.I hope Shanleys does as well.I dont have a problem with William Dunlap's bracelet ending up with Mark, passing thu Katherine for a time.Barb, you said Pam wanted William to be returned to a place of honor.I see honor, respect and love,in Katherines hands. She would (Iam sure) wear them both.Katherin,at some point, hopefully would return Dunlap to the 129th home.As I said, the meusem isnt up and running yet,why stuff the bracelet in a dark box untill then. These are just thoughts, without a bottem line.First and foremost,I want to thank Pam and Barb for their honor to us.It means alot. Now we must return Pams honorto us,by doing what she wishes.Thoughts, comments, suggestions are sought to my printed thoughts,I am nether wise enough, literate enough, nor experinced enough. This is the 129th,s decesion.Lets hear from you flight. With a slow, respectful hand salute to Dunlap,Shanley and Pam....alvis

Kim, yes there were good things that went on over there and have sadly been lost to history. I remember being on the ground near the Bong Son bridges and came upon some little Vietnamese boys who were fishing with homemade poles. We pulled out the first aid kit and I patched up a couple of nasty cuts on one boy's arm. Still have a picture of him.

Lots of snow in WI, lots. Anybody want to come over and shovel for me;>) I have a snow blower but no gas, and there's too much snow to go in to get some in. LOL!! Barb, great to see you here and to hear that you might make San Antonio! It will be great to hear some of Pam's stories. Katherine and Mark, and the rest of the flight and flightletts, decide what you feel is appropriate for the final resting place of Williams' bracelet: I know Katherine would hold it next to her heart, as she holds Michaels', and I know Mark would take care with it in the museum. Barb, we're all very moved that Pam wore and cherished it, and you humble us by your attempts to honor your friend Pam in such a way as to find a home for Williams' bracelet. What a family! Hello from frozen Ohio. We are iced in Roads are ok but the trees and power lines have suffered damage. Rode around town last night ans this morning and hardly is a treet without lims across it. Ice looked to be about 1 1/2" incircled around the branches. It's been awhile since I have seen ice like this in these parts. I recall while stationed at Cherry point, NC in 1970 had bad ice like this............rivers a full and out of the banks all around. Some hard to get passed. have to make a trip to Troy Ohio this morning for parts. Hopes it better to the south......God Bless you all and take care......always a brother..

Hey guys would it be alright if I took William Dunlap's bracelet and wore it with Michael's? I would be most honored. If you think it should go to the museum instead of me then that is okay too. I would take him into my heart just like I did with Michael. I emailed Barbara and told her I would like to have it. I also told her to check it out with Gently for her opinion. I would like to know it is okay with you guys for me to take it. If it's not that is okay with me. If I don't get it then I think it needs to go to Mark. Always a sister

Dave, others, who've seen the video....I spent most of my flying time over there in the guns. How about speaking some on the med cap missions that were taking place in 70-71. We tend to neglect all the good things that went on in that place. On another note, we've passed a bit of a milestone in Iraq, 10,000 wounded in combat....Freddie Skaggs, we're making plans for Key West/ Ft. Meyers in a couple months. You still working?

That's a great story you guys! Two hours, Fred?! I guess it doesn't surprise me ya old coot:>)))) you still have that strength in ya. :>) To all: I've got a person(Barb) looking for a place to send a POW-MIA bracelet for William Dunlap. I've suggested it be sent to Mark for the museum, but if anyone has a better idea her email, is CrazyBarbi@aol.com. Apparently her friend Pam wore it for many years and Pam recently "crossed over." Barb, knowing how much it meant to her friend Pam, is trying to do the right thing here. So feel free to contact her-just type "William Dunlap" in the subject line so she doesn't delete you as SPAM. Great to hear from Mr. Johnson! Now....Cups! With gentle thoughts-Gently

Members and Family of the 129th, On behalf of the family of Charles Koesters, I am posting our thanks and appreciation for the cards, flowers and warm thoughts posted on the 129th Flight log when we lost Mom this past September. Dad was very touched by your thoughtfulness and caring. My siblings and I were also very appreciative of your support. This has been a very difficult time for us and we are taking small steps to move forward with our lives. Still leaning on each other and relying on our faith to carry us through. The holidays were difficult but we held together and came through with a tighter family bond thanks to Dad's courage and leadership. I regret the amount of time which has passed before publishing this post but wanted to insure I sent the message. Our thoughts and prayers also go out to Mark and Dee's family and Hilda Jackson with the loss of Carl. As Dad has been an employee of Carl's for the last 43 years, his loss was felt throughout the family. It is my hope that we all find peace in the future and always have someone to lean on in our times of need. Best Regards, Joe Koesters
