Hi all, I want to start by thanking everyone for your prayers and comments. I am after everything on a road trip. Also I have found someone who I have been looking for even though he is listed on the contact list with an old email address. That is Robert Lee WIA Sept of 1972. I am hoping that it may also get us one step closer to getting a copy of the recording of that mission. For those who have never visited his site, it is www.lifesjoy.net/WebMaster/Vietnam/Vietnam.htm Robert Lee. At the moment I am in SC in an old 26' Motorhome with a 129th Patch in the back window. All take care for the New Year.

Happy Birthday Jim!!.. I sure am glad to hear the problem wasn't as bad as it could have been. I'd bet before finding out, that it was quite a scare... and Gale said it right, they may be trying to get you out of there, retired.. I know it was just what I needed, love every minute of it!!.. Rick England, hey bud, I will be in Mesa, AZ the month of January and tried looking up your phone number.. No luck, unlisted.. If you and the wife want to get together with us for dinner or the like, you can email me with it and I will call you. I see your house on Google Earth and it looks like it should be pretty easy to find. Also, anyone else in the Pheonix area that would like to have an "eyeball" just drop me a line. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and will be having a Happy New Year!!!.. Love and Brotherhood.... L8r.. Kal...>>>

Happy 62nd birthday to my wonderful husband. I'm so thankful that we've been able to spend such many years together. Here's to many more! Tuesday we had quite the scare. After getting home from work, it appeared Jim was having another heart attack. The EMTs rushed him to the closest hospital and then onto the hospital in Wausau WI out of which his cardiologist works. Thankfully, we found out late Wednesday that all the heart tests came back good. Whew! It was finally ruled that he had food poisening from shrimp from a Xmas party at work and many of the symptoms mimicked his heart attach systems. Now you can see why I'm so happy to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY ! I know you all join me in well wishes for many more. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to everyone involved in the 129th!

Festus (Lt. Richard Trumbo) sent me some pictures awhile back, but I lost them in a computer crash. The Elk was so big four of us (3crew, 1 ROK RTO) couldn't get him in the helicopter. We ended up strapping his rack to the hard points on the floor and exiting the area with him hanging out the side of the chopper. When we got to the ROK regiment there were I bet a hundred troops there to witness the return of the intrepid hunters. Aloha, Greg Henkel 1st Flt Platoon, 1971-72

Mele Kalikimaka ! This is the day in 1971 that John Paul Vann visited our Company and then Festus, myself, I believe Smitty and a gunner I can't recollect shot an eight point elk while goofing off on a resupply mission. It fed the ROK's christmas dinner, and their CO confiscated the trophy head saying; "It was in my AO, It's my trophy". Best holiday wishes, hope you all missed Hawaii getting shellacked by Notre dame yesterday.

Flight, FYI...the following website now has "Vietnam era fatigue shirts" on sale for $31.99 + 4.oo shipping. These are not the "poplin" (as we knew),but, they are 100% cotton. I usually wear XL,but, the one I ordered was way too big. I'm gonna return it for a L size. Here's what it reads on the XL label: chest (45 to 49 in), height (from 67 to 71 in)and they don't tell you that in the ad. Of course, you have to tear the label out that says; Made in China....grrrrrrrr! https://www.vetfriends.com/catalog/catalog_detail.cfm?itemNum=921

Hi everyone, this morning I am writing with sad news in my family here. I married into my wife's family and gained two great Brother-In-Laws as vets, both with Perple Hearts. Some of you met them at Kokomo in 2007! Yesterday morning my wife's sister rolled over to her husband Chuck and wanted to cuddle and within a few minutes she stopped breathing. For those that met him he was the guys with the white hair and have posted about him having colon cancer in the past. We all know God have his reason for what happens, but please pray for him and her kids have strengh to make it through this time. My wife and all her siblings are not dealing well as they were all very close.

Dear Flight…… The best wishes for the holidays to you and yours. To say I’m ecstatic is a vast understatement, I wondered if one of those bracelets would ever find its place on to my wrist. I too wish that there was a way each of us could just go on line and order one. Sad to say that is not the case. I do visit the site but have not had much to say. Tending to my wife; she has an infection in her toe that the diabetes wants to make worse. But with the help from the Great Motorcycle Rider in the Sky we will endure. Hope to see a bunch of you at the next reunion, as it is my back yard; sort of. At least it is on this side of the country. Again best wishes to all……………..Matt Casey

Hi all, I am just waiting for spring to return, Happy Holadays. Gale got the XMas stuff out and was checking out your cabin last year. Makes me wish I had trees here for mine. I have been stuck cleaning out my computer here and Fred thanks for cleaning out the YAHOO site. I think I have most addresses listed for my email, but today had to block all but the ones I have. Fred think they must have gotten them from the other site but been getting so much trash the past few weeks. Didn't open them after the first one. Well wish everyone a great holiday as we have my youngest grandson again tonight. Had him four nights last week as my son got laid off. Took him to the VA to try and get them to pay for his College while he is drawing unemployment now anyway, well as soon as it starts. All take care!

Good Morning Flight! It's -22 this morning here. Waiting for the Chinook winds to start and warm it up a little. Been really busy here as I've been helping in Yellowstone Park to keep the power on. Adds new meaning to "Keeper of the Light!" Economy in Big Timber got knocked down a few notches but a couple hundred of the miners were called back or relocated. Thank You Jim W for asking. It really does affect all of us. Jim we will have Mark fix that email address. Thought that was already done. Can't wait to send these bracelets off - did we make some $$$ Gently??? Please remember that these came off 495. Some guy in maintenance gave them to me when I got out of the hospital after the 5/29/70 shoot down. I've celebrated that day ever since!! Jamie's numbers looked great this week so we are taking special note of the holidays this year. They have a special meaning to us more and more every day. Vickey glad the book was well recieved when we hear of so much none history being taught. Mentioned about to day in my home and no one seemed to remember what day it was. Again my Dad was always on me as a kid about history and reminding that those who forget are likely to repeat it. We are doing to ourselves that same thing by saying it isn't right to give a kid an "F" but should be an "H" for hold. My school had kids graduate when they were pushing twenty. By the way I am a card carring member of the NRA! All take care today..

Dakota says she was the center of attention in class with her Bite & Strike book. The teacher then talked about how important the helicopters were in Vietnam. Next week, each student has to write an imaginary letter home from the viewpoint of a Vietnam soldier.

8th Inf Div stationed in Germany Feb 1957 until deactivated Jan 1992. During my over 14 years of service in Germany I never noticed it was anywhere Viet Nam. 8TH ID was part of V Corps with headquarters in Bad Kreuznach with units assigned at other kasernes in area of operations. V Corps was mostly in the more northern part of FRG with VII corps in the southern parts. So either your guy was confused about geography or he was a want a be. Hope this helps. Snapper

Hay all I have gotten the same stuff either wanting money, or see my hot pics, etc. with the 129thahc in the subject line. Think we have been hacked, but I just delete them once I figured it out. Besides that has anyone gotten any good news from the VA doctors to why we are all falling apart, LOL? I did see where the disability is going up over 5% and travel is going from 28 to 41 cents a mile next month. My problem is the last time I tried to drive to Indy I made it half way there before the pain started getting so bad I had to turn around. Still wonder about the doctors I have down there anyway. If you've gotten an email from Madeline, your computer is already infected. That's what happened to ours just before it crashed. I think either the 129th web site is compromised or all the email addresses have been somehow captured or emails are being captured from our email mailboxes. Of course we've never opened them but it didn't do any good. Our computer is currently in the shop being repaired. I let you know what we find out. Sue H.

Vickey, God bless you & your daughter. There was once a country known as the republic of South Vietnam, only education will tell the story. We tried, were stifled by our own, & left without completing our mission, hence it is communist today. I apologize to those who are left with it & i feel a deep sense of loss for the 58,479 who gave it all trying to give it to them. Sometimes i dont know how to feel & remain lost in all this. I pray to God we're not doing it again now. History has a way of repeating itself. Maybe & only maybe, the youth of the world can learn from this & stop this God awful Thing called War!!!!!
